Maybe after we have 100, we could run a quick poll to pick the top 10 or something.
Just out of interest, of course...

I used to half-inch graph paper from school to map stuff all the time.

But I remember I had a map of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade published in Crash - but I was not credited. :x

A caricature of Arthur Scargill can be seen on the loading screen to Wanted: Monty Mole, so it clearly is not Monty himself who is the caricature - he is, as you say, representing the disgruntled miners themselves. ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/screens/load/w/gif/WantedMontyMole.gif Obv...

Plenty of RPG games "did it" before Final Fantasy, if we are looking at it that way then...

What I was refering to was the "Final Fantasy is on the PlayStation, look, it's in 3D, wow! it's the best thing since sliced bread..."-factor.

I've seen a few in chip shops recently. One of our local grocery stores used to have a load at one point. Just a little fruit and veg shop, videos for hire - that sort of thing - but the owner was a real wheeler-dealer - he turned his back room into a little arcade, just because he thought it would ...

Great - glad you brought this game up. I am pretty sure - in fact, almost certain - that this game had a widely accepted nickname. Now, I was young, so maybe it was just widely accepted within my playground - in which case no one will have a clue what I am talking about. But I can remember everyone ...

Well - I looked at this and my initial thought was "choose just one game?!? - crikey! This is gonna be a struggle..." Cookie. Super Star Wars. Atic Atac. Gran Turismo. Head Over Heels. etc etc But then I saw Final Fantasy VII had already made the list and knew what I had to do... 80) Final Fantasy V...

Thru the Wall on the Spectrum Horrizons tape I'm surprised a lot more Spectrum owners aren't stating this too! It was the only tape I had for a while!! ;) Yep - same here too, but the Speccy was my cousin's. But if we are talking first computer that we owned personally, it would have to be Disco Da...

That's a toughy - but I voted 80s in the end.
Probably just nostalgia tipping the balance.

I can see the "now" argument, and I have great affection for the SNES era.
And then the 70s must have been a really exciting time too if you were old enough to appreciate it.

I've always looked at Gran Turismo as more of a racing strategy game than a simulation. I mean, in saying that, it's hardly rocket science: acquire licenses, win races, buy cars, and kit them out - ultimately in a rather linear fashion - it still all hinges on the actual racing element. It has that ...

Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefront II were great fun... I always look forward to a new game in the Final Fantasy series... Other than that, it's pretty bleak as far as I'm concerned. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a lot of contemporary games, but they do quickly become a chore once the wow factor ha...
