Re: Crash Magazine - a little daydream...

Man would I love that!! I've got the scans but until they bring out a n ebook reader of any worth I won't get much use out of them. I just use CDisplay , which is used by the comic community to view comic book scans. Simply put all of the jpegs of a given issue into an appropriately named zip folde...

I still think the Powerplay Cruiser is boss.
I had the black version, because I found the coloured models a bit garish... but the stick itself was great - nice and solid.

It'd have to be the SNES for me.
So many great games.
But, yeah, the 2600 was my first love too...

Re:

Why do i like him so much? Partly it's because he resembles Rorschach from the great 'Watchmen' and i like to believe because capcom didn't furnish our dear Q with ANY backstory what-so-ever i can project whoever i want on him. So he's really Rorschach or at least his burning atomic soul, immensely...

Not really a "favourite", but one that sticks in my mind is Robocop's. It's so simple - he sinks to his knees, and makes that pathetic "wop-wop" noise; and yet it gets the message across admirably: "You're dead, look at how crappy you are." No explosion, no glorious technicolour exit - just you, cro...

That's the weird thing about this kind of game on the 8-bits - some worked, and some just didn't. And some games worked on one system, but other ports did not. I get the impression it was a hard thing to perfect: you've essentially got cardboard cut out sprites, in environments which are torn betwee...

It's a crazy world.
I've just realised that my avatar takes up nearly three times as much memory as a rom of the game itself...

I was never really that taken by DD... as I was a Speccy owner, and it was a pretty ugly version.

The Renegade games were good though.

Well, I'd say this. For me to get what I get out of retro gaming - then I had to be there. But other people are bound to get different things out of it - so for them, they didn't have to be there. When you think about it, us "oldies" are, to a greater or lesser degree, fuelled by nostalgia - whereas...

Depends which version of the game you owned. As Forestville points out - due to a mastering error, the original release could never be completed because level seven was recorded onto the tape a second time, in place of the eighth, and final, level. So it's very likely you may well have "completed" t...
