Re: Retro Gamer Issue 104

It just suprised me that 8 pages of the mag were taken to spell out that you don't like the franchise in any of it's iterations They weren't. They were used to tell the story of the series and highlight interesting things people probably wouldn't have known about it, of which there were many. The f...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 104

Enjoyed the issue. The only issue I have with the Kick Off feature is Stuart's use of a conclusion at the start of the article. Nothing wrong with you disliking the game or thinking it was 'usurped' later but the neutral reader has been given an unnecessary slant on the article before its begun, we...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 104

... so here was an article that told it like it is. Or to put that another way, 'An article written by a Sensible Soccer nut on a mission to slate his favoured series' main competitor'. Arf. As I noted in the piece, whether you measure by critical response or by sales Kick Off is a "competitor" to ...

That's quite clearly a very silly thing to say.

Wow! this was fast!! right.. it`s got issues!! regarding the Kick Off article.. and there`s me thinking Stuart Campbell was all knowing when it came to Kick Off.. I`ll add to this as I start reading the article.. this stuck out like a sore thumb! 1: Kick Off COllection ( Spectrum, Amiga? ) He state...

Re: Official Feedback Issue 103

Its pretty common in publishing to have proof readers who do just that, checking for typos and grammatical errors after the editing process. Sadly, not any more it's not. The value of sub-editors ended at roughly the same time the general public's ability to spell or punctuate properly did. Even gr...

No particular reason. You'll be pleased (or annoyed, depending on which angle you were asking from) to hear that I've just submitted an eight-page Definitive for issue 104, though.

Re: Issue 97 Official Feedback

Slightly disappointed to see no mention of Wipeout in the Batty boxout, would have liked to hear the story behind that. But it was nice to see someone write a six-page summary of my Definitive Frogger for new readers who didn't see the proper version...

Re: PS Vita vs 3DS

I'll likely do what I did last time; get a 3DS to play with my friends who have 3DS consoles too. When the price falls on the Vita to around £60, £70 I'll buy it to play into the next gen (like I have the PSP) with the games really really cheap. Given that the PSP hasn't even fallen that low yet, y...
