I used to play Bobsleigh loads on my c64. It was really good having the management side of it as well, and working your way up through the leagues - much better than the pure arcade bit from winter games.

Excellent title - may go dig it out this weekend

Yep the PSP emulator (FF7 on the move) and the Exult engine (Ultima VII) have definitely persuaded me to get one. :) I'll probably wait till the summer though before buying it. Hopefully the firmware will be pretty stable by then, power issues should be gone, and there should be a new joystick cap. ...

I don't go to car boot sales anymore - you just don't get the same bargains.

Over the years though, the best bargains I've got are:

Boxed woodgrain Atari 2600 + 5 games - 50p
Boxed ZX81 plus loads of games - £1
C64 monitor, disk drive, foot pedals, loads of games (inc Great Giana Sisters) - £1

Games you have spent the most time on

As the title says which games have you lost the longest amount of time on? I have a few games that could win; Ultima V (ST) - 1st proper RPG I owned (was heavily into D&D at the time). Had loads of A4 sheets of maps, info, conversations written. I think I've still got them in the box actually. Dunge...

well you need to put some zipped roms in the \\roms folder below mame. Then you need to go to file and "audit all games".
Then you'll see all the zips you have in the roms dir - select the game you want to play (making sure of coursethat you own the game first 8) )

Is the PSP the console of choice for play retro games?
nope, it certainly isn't - the GP2X is. It kicks the bollox out of the fan boy PSP.

Come on, for nearly the same money you can own a gp2x and a Nintendo DS - I know which I'd rather have (once the new slim line DS appears).

yep, drop the buyer's guide - complete waste of space (or at the very least reduce it or only publish it every 1/4). Also, the maginifed 2 page screen shot with half a page of text really needs a rethink. Sometimes the image is so blocky you can't make it out. To fix it, Expand the text and rather t...

I seem to remember Head over Heels coming out for the c64 And Green Beret is a great game - it gets difficult at level 3 though My choice would have to be...

92. Ultima VII Prt 2 Serpent Isle (PC) Okay so you needed to fast PC to play it on (20mhz 486 wow!), and you needed to be a master of DOS, config.sys and autoexec.bat to get it working properly. But, this game had everything; state of the art graphics, fully immersive gameplay, completely involving...
