Re: 'Bedrooms to Billions' film project - how you can help!

The makers are now looking to hit their stretch goal of £100k - if they hit this, they will release a special edition of the DVD/BR which will contain 4hrs of extras (full interviews etc) - and give it away "free" to all backers http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1195082866/from-bedrooms-to-billion...

you haven't seen the price of the CD then - £50! But, yes the DVD is much more reasonably priced this time. Looking forward to both (if I can justify that amount on a CD)

Re: 'Bedrooms to Billions' film project - how you can help!

They're taking the mickey a bit with the CD being priced at £50!! I know it's new stuff by Rob Hubbard and Ben Daglish, they're signing it, and there's a 30 min documentary. But more than double the price of the DVD is a bit much :-( I would have bought a CD if it had been £25 - think they have pric...

Re: Retro Gamer Issue 110 Official Feedback

agree with the consensus about the cover - why didn't you put the nintendo characters on a sleigh! As for the content, wow, probably the best this year! Baldur's gate, scumm, kevin toms, kickstart, 25 festive games, bullfrog, and a great tribute to a great man. Every article interests me for the 1st...

Re: Much more DOS and old PC gaming coverage please!!

Well to argue a £1000-1500 PC is more powerful than an £300 Amiga/ST or £190 Megadrive is like stating a Sharp X68000 or Neo Geo is more also more powerful...yes of course they are, you get what you pay for...doesn't mean y ou didn't get great games on any of the other platforms... The Amiga kept m...

Re: Much more DOS and old PC gaming coverage please!!

Just read through the 7 pages - lots of skewed opinions against more PC articles, and some rubbish about PCs not being popular till the late 90s, and also not being popular in the UK! What tosh! The PC took over in the very early 90s - to argue anything else is just wrong - games like Wing Commander...

c64 owner here - owned Staff of Karnath and Entombed also Imhotep (sic! worst game ever on the c64?). Staff and Entombed were both great, but I must admit the Spectrum releases were truly magical. Choice between Jet Pac, Attic Attac, and Sabre Wulf. Mmmmm I'll go for Sabre Wulf (which I eventually g...

Re: Questions for Ron Gilbert & Tim Schafer re SCUMM

do you see kickstarter as the only way to fund point & click games now? Or after your success with Double Fine Adventure, and the success of Broken Sword on kickstarter - do you see the industry sitting up and realising there is still a viable market for 2d point and click adventures?

Re: Post your Android games here?

yep, no need to root just for flash - I side loaded flash on my Wife's Nexus 7 so she could watch BBC iPlayer. I've rooted my Asus Prime (just before I upgraded to jelly bean). The reasons I rooted where; - getting the USB/BT joycenter app addon that allows you to map on screen controls - allows you...

Re: Should RG cover Android games?

Neither stuart or myself have android devices and reviews aren't freelanced out. Like I said before there was such a backlash when we first started covering iOS and the separate mobile phone section that we are in no hurry to add even more phone coverage. We will make an effort to mention if iOS ga...

Re: Should RG cover Android games?

You've got to laugh at the 4 people that voted iOS only! That's like saying you can have xbox360 retor games reviewed but not PS3. If you are reviewing for one current system - you review for all - otherwise scrap all the reviews altogether. All I'm asking is that if an Android version is available ...

Re: Should RG cover Android games?

As I sort of started the argument on the feedback thread - I think you know my answer ;-) - I have a Sony XPeria play phone (the one with the pull out gaming controls) - I have a Asus Transformer Prime - which is where I do most of my gaming now - and my better half has a Google Nexus 7. So loads of...
