I don't know. The Atari screenshot reminds me a lot of the Camels level in Batalyx.

Looks like Minter put it to rights later.

Donkey Kong Jr. The first game ever to reverse the roles of hero and anti-hero.

Those snapjaws were pretty nasty pieces of work as well.

(That's the sound of disapproval as well as your name ;) )

At least on the C64 you get FLESH. On the Amstrad, you get yellow/green/blue skin according to what room the character is in!
Which is OK if you're into lego porn :)

Hey PM are you sure about the lack of red cannons in the trench run? (They might appear in about level 3 onwards, I might check this w/end.)

I can confirm that for this and Empire Strikes Back avoiding the C64 is advisable.

But if its on there, then I'd love to see how bad it is!
Hey, if Head Over Heels could be ported then Knight Lore would be a snap.

Especially with the rare NES port.

I have heard rumours of a C64 port.

The Amstrad port looked stunning in the pages of C&VG. I reckon Head Over Heels is the better game though.

OK. I've been thinking long and hard about this. Back in the day for about six months the only PC set up in one of the major department stores was an Amstrad. Sometimes I would get a feel for a game on it and buy the C64 version. Most of the time I didn't get stung too badly. (I bought Jet Set Willy...

This list should include Custer's Revenge (Atari 2600). A few years ago I actually downloaded the ROM out of morbid curiosity. Suffice to say I deleted it a few minutes later. If there's one game which doesn't deserve to be preserved through emulation this would be it. I remember a few years back s...

Thanks! :D To be honest, I've been thinking I need to lighten up a bit and take these comparisons a little less seriously, as I tend to get carried away and go into too much detail. Either way, I'm going to have to try to be a bit more concise in the next one, given that it looks like it's going to...

Well you can let the man know that Demon Attack, Cosmic Ark and Missile Command all got frequent play at our house. Thanks to the Activision Anthology Demon Attack still gets played often. You might want to ask him about the bug in the original run of cart's. It's been documented elsewhere before bu...

Is Emperor Fossil writing copy for the magazine? If not why not?

Again, another amusing comparison. Oddly enough I've never played Mr Heli in any incarnation.

I remember playing the C64 version in a shop and liking it far more than I thought I should. (It was one of those games that was universally panned as average.)

Here's an idea for another comparison.

Tau Ceti. Anyone up for doing it?

A last one: Dropzone http://www.thelegacy.de/pics/screen/d/D_1991_1139155489_dropzone_1.png The ATARI version played well, fast and at a 1984 Arcade level. The colours are balanced well. http://www.thelegacy.de/pics/screen/d/Dropzone.gif If you want to play a level down with unablanced colours just...
