Re: Questions for David Crane

Do you think having the designers name, photo and bio is a good thing or a bad thing nowadays? (I really miss not knowing who the creative force behind a game is/was. Back in my day David Crane was a hero in our schoolyard.)

Re: Questions for Martyn Brown

Two questions.

1. Will you bring out Superfrog on the DS? (Please please please.)

2. Were you aware of the somewhat seedier moves of Dug (and one of the dinosaurs) in Ultimate Body Blows? What was the story behind that?

Beyond Good and Evil would make a great movie. Save the world not by defeating evil single handed but by making everyone aware it's there.

The new Prince of Persia is also just begging to be made into a movie.

I'll try to sneak in the odd game of something on the loo, maybe Tetris. It's the only free space I'll get to play on Christmas.

Even better, it had that fantastic 'fart' noise when you died. My brother and I laughed for months.

Has to be H.E.R.O. Fantastic game. Agreed. HERO has to be the best 2600 game. What other game of it's time allowed you to rescue miners being terrorised by spiders, snakes, tentacles and worst of all, er, those moths. Enduro runs a close second. The first game with a changing day night cycle. (With...

How about making these threads open to all systems? Adding 'on the Speccy' to the end of them makes the thread more limited and uninteresting/irrelevant to some forum members. (I have edited your post on this to make it a free for all RHS love-in (or hate-a-thon) Well as a C64 lover I have to say t...

There's a big difference in being engaged in a frantic struggle for survival and just doing the 8-bit digital space-oriented equivalent of hanging around a street corner until the pub opens. LOL! Very true. For me the appeal was 1 Flying something that was sort of like Han Solo's ship. 2 Being able...

I went for the C64. I've played both but prefer the C64 graphics. That's part due to nostalgia, part down to the muddy pallette of the 64 really suiting this genre. I'd never go back to the speccy version. Why? For me it's C64 for nostalgia. (Let's face it, it's a butchered cut down version but it l...

Well since Sony has dropped backwards compaitibility for this new model they've lost me this gen.

BC was the killer app for me to go with them over MS and Nintendo. Without it the field opens up.

(Besides, since the PS2 is obsolete I may as well play all the games I haven't made time for yet.)

Zynaps : Back in the day I couldn't understand the praise this got. Even with my best Wico the inertia of the ship was rubbish. Why play this when a tape marked 'Uridium' is waiting nearby whispering 'pick me.' The irony of course being that I've played this again on the C64 joystick. And a new play...

Worth pointing out if you have a real Amiga with a lot of Fast Ram you can install Another World or Flashback into fast Ram. Sure, you lose it when you turn off the machine but until then no loading times :)
