The ZX Spectrum version of R-Type was cool 8) very colourful for a speccy game, and Outrun on the speccy was good :|

This poll has seemed quite popular, with an 82% of votes for no coverdisc.
when RG was first published i very rarely used the coverdiscs, but i did play though "beneath a steel sky".

the odd one coverdisc would be a good idea.

here is a pol for coverdiscs, would you like to have a coverdisc every issue but pay extra for the mag or have no coverdisc and loads of content in the mag 8)

The beeb was a very good computer, I used to use then at school back in the 80s, and of a lunchtime we played games on them inc "Mr Ee" which was a really good game both graphically and sound, and some other games aswell, all loaded from 5.25 inch floppy disc.

Just got my copy of RG issue 21 yesterday (3/2/2006) and i most certainly like the "R Type" feature, the speccy version was the one i played and enjoyed it 8) and i have also had "R Type DX" on the Gameboy Color. Retro Gamer is a real cool 8) magazine, The first issue I purchased was issue six, with "Beneath A Steel Sky" on the coverdisc, which run through the scumm software, and i've had RG every issue since. I use "fuse" a lot for speccy emulation on mac os x, it is a very good piece of software, maybe the next version of fuse could have a multface 128 options. :idea:

A complete remake of head over heels, cool 8) it could be in in third person 3d with different on screen angels, and feature two player modes over a wlan, and team matches over the internet.
