Re:

Interesting. Given her knowledge and appreciation of the scene, I'd have thought she would have 'kept her oar in', as it were. I'm sure she's putting her degree to good use and making obscene money in management consultancy, or somesuch. Having had a good look back through some past email, I might ...

As I was staying with the C64, then I didn't play this, but I did get all of SSI's other AD&D games over the years. The two Krynn games are especially good :)

Oh there's plenty... mainly budget titles here near the end of the PS1 life. Small budget games released at say 10 quid here. Lots of them put up in Europe and the US, as I've seen them.

Re:

What was the last official numbered count of PS1 games worldwide? Wasn't it something crazy like 7000? Bearing in mind re-releases, and regional releases (there must be no less than what, 10 official SOTN versions?) It's about 1500 in the US, and 2500 in Europe someone told me recently. Not sure ab...

If you just subbed now, it will start from the next issue I presume (21), so you'll have to order 19 and 20 from Imagine separately.

Or have a look round Borders or Barnes&Noble, they stock the mag (allegedly) so they might have either of them on the shelves.

Hmm.... *thinks*... well no order here... 1) Modified parallel port 1541-II unit for transfering originals to backup (thank you Markus Brenner). 2) Some damn fine rare Vic20 carts for not that much of a price. 3) Gauntlet III for C64 (thank you Andy Roberts!). 4) Being given Elvira II C64 (thank you...

Both envelopes for my subs copy so far have been ripped in parts (though the mag have managed to remain intact) so it's probably my delivery service not being kind to it...

Some of it was gleened from reading the book (hence part of the reason for including it with the game at the time)... such as near the start, waiting until it got light so the trolls turned to stone.

Yes, it is Quest for the Rings for the Odyssey 2 (I utterly refuse to ever call the machine a Videopac or G7000 personally :P ).

Heh... get used to it in the future. There's quite a few teenagers on the boards @ Digital Press, who grew up with the SMS or NES, so as long as we keep enough of the young'uns interested in retro, it should survive after we've passed on :P

For a time... I have Frank Bruno's Boxing and Commando with it on, but the loading music for Airwolf was something different, the name of which escapes me at the moment (something well known though).

And to contrast here, whilst at school, I knew one person with a BBC. He was also a bit of a techy geezer so we were always asking him how to do various stuff in our computer classes. Over that, I knew a few people with a Speccy, one with an Amstrad, and a lot with C64s. Probably more than the rest ...

Given current retro trends in the US, it would be better sticking an NES on the front. Lots of 18-30 year olds getting the bug again and most of them grew up with Nintendo's first console.
