Re: Questions for Alain Fernandes (RG183)

Now that I think about it... yeah... I do recall mention of it, and having had a check, there is an entry for it at Atarimania...

Re: Zzap!64 Annual 2019 Kickstarter

Finding great new games that haven't been covered in the mainstream before is why these things are great. The last of PSJs Speccy Bibles is perhaps my favourite as there's just so much undiscovered gems for me in it. Crash/ZZap already covered all the key games from their era, so new games coverage...

Re: Zzap64 Annual kickstarter now open

I also noticed the review for Commando Arcade SE, which I didn't know actually existed. So I've just played through that. It's nice to see the game we should have had all those years ago. So thanks to whoever put in the work on that. The scene group Nostalgia. They've also done the same to Ghosts '...

Re: Questions for Alain Fernandes (RG183)

I saw that and presumed it was meant to be Atari ST heh. There are a lot of what are now considered minor formats in your early roster, what was it like to program for them, and why those formats, and not say Atari 400/800 or the Commodore 64? Our C64 games database project has English and German ve...

Re: Zzap!64 Annual 2019 Kickstarter

My only niggle with the Crash! annual last year was the amount of homebrew featured in it, but either way I'm actually more excited for the Zzap! than I was the Speccy (and I am more Speccy than I am C64). Just to note, quite a bit of the content is along similar lines, so all the reviews in the Zz...

Re: Discuss: Spectrum vs Amstrad Gaming

Games made specifically for the Amstrad were usually fairly decent, but most games weren't ; they were usually conversions (often from the Speccy) and suffered. Badly. Scrolling was awful (unless playing in a postage stamp window) graphics often blocky and overly colourful. This is what I was going...

Re: The Greatest Games Systems Of All Time

Although the C64 probably pushes the Speccy close in terms of new releases, even if they are not lauded... although games such as Steel Ranger, Sam's Journey, and Luftrauserz are incredible, and would have impressed back in the actual day. To the argument at hand, I voted for the Dreamcast and I've ...

Re: 2017/18 Football season chat

Heh, Roma was going balls deep there, they were utterly taking Barcelona to the cleaners amazingly enough, just having difficulty putting the ball into the score bag. Until the 82nd minute. The Man City Liverpool match started with a bang, but as soon as Pool scored, it was over.

Re: Questions for Matt Gray

As I've asked Matt a bunch of stuff before, hard to think of new questions heh... Did you realise at the time how young, like yourself, many of your contemporaries were? Which game music actually made you the most money overall in the end? Are there any tracks you look back and think "yeah would hav...

Re: From the forum issue 178 - Goldeneye

That a console could actually do a FPS, and with four players, the multiplayer was off the scale. The times for turbo mode, golden gun, banning Odd Job sessions was immense! But the story mode was very well planned out, took the parts of the film and expanded on them brilliantly, and the levels were...
