The game plays very well, except that I just can't suss the menus, making it very difficult to navigate properly. Could anyone help me out by suggesting anyw...

I don't know his name, but what about the dude that 'stars' as the athlete in Hypersports/Track & Field/Konami Soccer on the MSX?

He's got a superb 'tache anyway!

But aside from the MSX Classics Collection discussed above, does anyone know of any retro release on the Saturn (or even PS1/2) that did feature F1-Spirit?

I know I'm being pretty optimistic, but hey, who thought back then we'd still be playing and discussing all these classics in this day and age??

Yes, I'm sure I've heard of the MSX2+ version before.. But like you say, it ain't on the compilation anyways..

Good job I'm a huge fan of the Gradius/Nemesis series!

(particularly Nemesis 2)

(HyperSports v Daley Thompson's Decathlon)

For my money, I think HyperSports was more fun (and I'm a Konami fan), but Daley Thompson's had more events.
DT's Super Test was pretty cool too.

A dead heat!

D'oh! But F1-Spirit was an MSX1 game...

(I only ever had an MSX1, and I used to own F1-Spirit) Metal Gear was an MSX2 game though...

Looks like I'll have to get my fix via fMSX then..

F-1 Spirit (MSX classic)

Does anyone know if F-1 Spirit was ever ported to the Sega Saturn (in the same way Nemesis/Gradius I, II, and III were, on the Konami Classics Collection)?

The aforementioned compendium of MSX classics would be perfect if it only included F-1 Spirit too! And maybe also Metal Gear...

Any takers?

C&VG gave the best ever covermounted tape... :D The Outrun arcade tunes :D , all three on one tape. I remember that! By far the best ever covermounted-anything! Played mine to death. I remember it had the 720 tunes too, but Magical Sound Shower topped everything. If you ever get an authentic copy, ...

Speaking as someone who never owned an Acorn machine (only came across them at school), I guess I would still be interested in learning more about them, in an RG-stylee of course. (I was always interested in machines I never owned - I regularly bought CU and ZZap64 despite never owning a C64.) But a...

Wow, I feel really sad that former (maybe current) BBC owners are all up in arms about an issue like this. I have owned, at some stage or another, each of the main three machines, a Sega Master System, NES, 2 MSXs, knew someone who owned a Dragon32, and obviously came across BBC Micros at school. My...

I had noticed RG months ago, but stupidly not bought it. That changed today, I think a subscription will be taken out. Fantastic.
