Re: Is an Xbox worth it alongside a 360 ?

I've still got my original Xbox and have softmodded it along the way so I can play emulators on it. I also bought an HD cable a few years ago which will output at 720p so I can play Sonic, Streets of Rage etc. in HD 8)

There's no argument for not having one really... :D

Thanks for the recommendation - I must have a look at this. Loved Pinball FX 1 & 2.

Re: Ever been tempted to sell your collection?

I need to have a purge soon. Got a rare Qoob chipped Gamecube that I've been umming & aahing about for some time. Got PS1s, a boxed MD, a NeoGeo Pocket Colour, a GP2X, some weird Far Eastern thing called "Terminator 2" - yes I could do with the cash for other projects so watch this space... Chapperz...

Re: Android or IOS?

IMO...although I hate Itunes (and my current PC o/s is Ubuntu Linux) the Iphone wins every time. Apple know what they're doing, hardware wise. Remember with iOS5 you're not tied to the PC anymore - software updates over the air now and you can wirelessly sync with Itunes.

Re: Linux for a novice

This is a good thread. I am sitting here typing this on an ancient (2003) laptop running Ubuntu 11.04 (latest release). Used to have XP on it but too slooooooow! Using Chromium as my browser - perfectly fine for what I need i.e. browsing! Also, my Dell PC (around 3 years old) suddenly stopped liking...

Re: Chillout Games

Problem sorted! I e-mailed Chillout who said they'd blocked my IP due to using too much bandwidth!!! I visited the site on & off whilst compiling my quote but I'm only on a 2Meg connection at the most, being "out in the sticks", so I'm mystified by this. Anyway, I am now allowed to use the site agai...

Re: LOL @ Profiteering!

@freemonk,

You can get devices like this for the SNES. They may not necessarily take SD cards depending on how recent they are but I can certainly think of ones which took older memory cards such as Compact Flash. I'm sure any decent search engine will yield the result.

Cheers,

Re: anyone else collect old videogame magazines?

1. My complete collection of Commodore Format (with all the tapes) May I ask where you obtained them from? Did you collect them when they were being published or retrospectively through ebay. etc? I have to admit that a complete Commodore Format collection is one of my mag collection goals and was ...

Re: anyone else collect old videogame magazines?

Yes I still have far too many! (according to Mrs Chapperz  ) Think I may have parted with some down the years, but still have loads of CVG, ACE, Amiga Format, CU Amiga (and discs/CD-ROMS). I should still have some of my Sega ones as well. I really must look them out... But my pride and joy (x2...

Chillout Games

Hi all, I am in the middle of uploading a quote to Chillout Games (PS1 stuff mainly), but the last couple of days has seen me unable to connect to the website (too many redirects). I am running on Linux so have tried Firefox & Chromium, but also tried Safari on my Iphone. Has anyone else noticed a p...

Thanks RR - like I said, all advice appreciated. I'm considering whether to sell or not as I'm looking to raise funds for other projects!

Cheers,
