Re: Top 25 Amiga Games

i'm a bit surprised a couple of these haven't come up before... Battle Squadron Slam Tilt - possibly not quite as good as Pinball Illusions but the fun we had in multi-player mode...! Super Obliteration - Asteroids meets Pang and it's free! Turrican 2 Uridium 2 - particularly with the drone and mani...

That's what i do as a day job too, but i went out of my way somewhat to not be called "Sir" or even "Mr".

Re: Link Request

I've had a look through the forum settings and can't see any option to do this. I agree that it is a little annoying but happily just right click the mouse and select open in new window (firefox). This is the default behaviour of phpBB3 since release and there's no moderator or even administrator c...

Re: Top 25 Atari 8-bit games

Moon Patrol - a little rough graphically, but plays very well indeed, the cartridge lives in my 600XL. Mercenary - a truly superb sandbox game. Zybex - "just" a conversion of the C64 budget blaster, but it's addictive and a little easier too. Humanoid - more cheap and cheerful shooting, probably so...

Never heard of it, is it like Miner 2049'er then? =-)

(Isn't asking if there are Manic Miner fans here like walking around the Vatican whilst shouting "any of you lot like the Pope?" =-)

Re: Mindsmear

Part of the joke was that it was asking the impossible of the hardware and that's still true; trying to get the game (or more accurately games) described in Zzap! going would be close to impossible on a stock C64 and tricky even with expanded hardware with no guarantee it'd be any fun to play. Well...

Re: Mindsmear

Although it always looked a bit rough, did anyone every try the character-scaling scenic object style of C64 games like Power Drift and Space Harrier , but in a fully free-roaming 3D environment? I can't think of any 8-bit examples off the top of my head. There's Paul Woakes' Encounter but it works...

Re: Mindsmear

Is there no homebrew hero interested in doing a version of Mindsmear? Part of the joke was that it was asking the impossible of the hardware and that's still true; trying to get the game (or more accurately games) described in Zzap! going would be close to impossible on a stock C64 and tricky even ...

Re: best free programming language

Used to do a bit of BASIC on my c16 when I was younger and also dabbled with PASCAL years back, I would like to try my hand at programming again and wondered if anyone could reccommend a free language to learn. I was thinking of buying an old 8 bit computer - maybe atari as I think there is quite a...

Re: Help creating ZX Spectrum graphics

Are there any modern art packages that can produce accurate ZX Spectrum-style graphics? I've just downloaded BMP2SCR1751, imagetozxspec_1.3.3_02, SevenuP-v1.20-win, winsge and ZXPaint and am looking into those. ZX-Paintbrush is pretty good to work with, i've used that for a couple of things recentl...

The only way i can think of off the top of my head for posts to disappear without it showing up in the moderator logs like that would be if the admins were to roll the database back from a recent backup (there's a few reasons i could think of but, since i'm guessing already , i won't take any furthe...
