Re: From the forum: 192

Can I cheat a little and pick a compilation of Ocean games?

The Magnificent 7 on C64, not only does it contain Wizball (one of my all-time favourites) but it also has Head Over Heels and the sublime Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Great value at the time.

Re: Questions for Stoo Cambridge

So here's the importance of research... Stoo is credited in various places online for bitmap graphics in the game "Eco" from Denton Designs/Ocean. But... he was never involved. Also, there's a typo up there I had to fix - I called his unreleased Amiga game The Last Starfighter, when it should really...

The last ever episode of Catastrophe on Channel 4 - a brilliant ending to a truly original and moving comedy series.

Re: Questions for Stoo Cambridge

How much fun was Jon Hare to work with, and what stories can you tell us that won't land Andrew in court for libel? ;) Did you have a career break between 1995 and 2000, or did Road Rash II just have a very long development? It's probably neither, but I couldn't help but notice the gap in your resu...

Questions for Stoo Cambridge

The legendary artist and former member of Sensible Software, Stoo Cambridge, will be my next "In the Chair" interview for RG. Stoo started out with a VIC-20 and moved on to the C64, before he was able to afford an Amiga (but he did also draw art for the Atari ST). After working freelance for a few y...

With all this talk of foul language, I can't believe nobody has mentioned the constant repeated use of the 'A' word, something nobody needs exposing to, much less kids.
Atari?

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 190

As a writer, I tend not to censor what someone else has written/said to me - the F word I always use asterisks for. But then, the most recent piece I submitted has the phrase "holy crap it worked" in; I left that in because it puts across what the person said and HOW they said it, echoing how they m...

Re: Questions for Rebecca (formerly Bill) Heineman

Did you play tabletop roleplaying games before being involved in The Bard's Tale series? What did you love and hate about the Apple II hardware? What was your favourite dev kit/hardware setup to work on? Did you ever hide anything in your titles that hasn't been discovered...yet? Which game was the ...

Care - BBC 1 drama starring Alison Steadman and Sheridan Smith, some amazing acting from them both as Steadman's character Mary suffers a serious stroke and her daughter (Smith) has to care for her. It also had a lot to say about social care.

Home - great animated movie with Jim Parsons (Sheldon from Big Bang Theory) playing a mistake-prone alien who "invades" Earth with his species (the Boov) but ends up helping a humans who lost their mother. Sweet and charming. They Will Not Grow Old - Peter Jackson's superb and moving film of World W...

Re: Your New Retro Gamer Community Team

With the shuffle around with sections, it seems a little odd that the mag section isn't at the top anymore. It's the Retro Gamer forum but the feedback has dropped 3/4 down the page! Should still be at the top. (I think). There's a simple reason why. It was called Feedback and that came first alpha...

Re: 8bit-Slicks: Online top-down racer for the Apple/Atari/C64

So, I created the original music for the C64... Then did a conversion of the tune for the Atari 8-bit version. The Apple Music is still in development but will be added as an update.
