It was confusing enough when they added volume numbers... now you want issue 19 to be known as volume 3 issue 1 or New Retro Gamer issue 1, or issue 19b...

Out Run on the C64 had two major problems, the graphics and the gameplay. The sprites were awful, especially the main car, and the backgrounds were incredibly blocky. The road stripes didn't give a feeling of speed either. The gameplay? The biggest shock is there are no road junctions. Spectrum Out ...

There was a rash of charity compilations back then - Off The Hook, Kidsplay (for the NSPCC) and the afore-mentioned Softaid.

Rocketball - best played with two players, but yes I like it Psi 5 - CLASSIC! Wasted many hours trying to stop the pirates boarding. Played it on tape initially, then bought it again on disk recently Law of the West - too repetitive, probably too ambitious for the machine Thunder Force III - good, b...

Hiya Merman... hope you like your new reviewer head piccy! Our type of game pun! lol... I thought we'd have got stung far more for the 'Eggshellent' pun with Dizzy! :D The fuzzy text BTW is because the first fresh copies of RG19 were literally fresh out from the printers, and a few copies have that...

Currently I spend most of my time emulating on the PC, but I do have some Dreamcast emulators. The only tiresome thing is when you get a game that crashes the emulator and you have to reboot...

Actually I noticed the fuzzy text on Hero/Villain OTM (which is a great idea BTW, along with the little best/worst at the top of the reviews section)

I would have given the first issue 9 and a half out of ten, but then you went and used the "Our type of game" pun, so you lose the half

The C64 version of Bomb Jack 1 & 2 were pretty awful. Mighty Bombjack is much better on the C64.

I'm not a great fan of the games though. Definitely one that was designed to rob players of many coins back in the day...
