Re:

The first time I played this I almost fell out of my chair when the alien turned and charged towards me. I was used to them marching across the screen right into my crosshairs. Great game. Was there anyway of getting more ammo? I always ran out before getting anywhere near the queen. And did anyone...

The legal matters are settled, and were the work of one individual NOT the whole group.

As for the forum, as I said, it was DNS problems and it SHOULD (touches wood, strokes lucky rabbit's foot, summons up the God of Networks) be sorted now.

Commodore Format gave away the UK version of Aliens by Electric Dreams.

The Activision/US version is OK, got some good points and some bad points. (And the dropship section is fun - even if it does play a little like Master of the Lamps...)

Bullying is one of the reasons why I don't want to get in touch with people from my school... Met the odd one or two over the (15) years since I left. But my best friend is now in Washington DC, so I don't get to see him that often...

Snowball Sunday by Ash & Dave (C64 demo from the Compunet network)... You get to control a little guy in the snow. Press down to pick up snow, then fire to ping it across the screen and knock the other two guys down... Of course, they are firing back...

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 on Gamecube. I was out Christmas shopping yesterday and happened to go past Game and there it was, sitting in the pre-owned wire basket, looking up at me saying "BUY ME! BUY ME!".... 7 goals done, only 183 to go...

Only film I saw at the cinema was Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and despite the critics I really enjoyed it. Yes, it does take some liberties with the original book, but so many things were right about it... Martin Freeman as Arthur Dent... the inside of Magrathea... Marvin (superbly voiced by ...

The one I will always remember was typing in a game listing from a book... I had the day off school due to a sporting injury (shot put in wet conditions equals badly bruised right arm) and so was typing in the listing LEFT-HANDED very slowly. 2 hours it took. Now, one little quirk of the C64 is that...

[blatant plug] Check out the Retro Survival CD [/blatant plug] Seriously, a compilation CD of useful programs, emulators and video/audio footage once a year sounds like a good idea. Or a sort of "Retro Starter Kit". (I still haven't finished looking through or playing all the stuff on the RG coverdi...
