Re: Questions for Mark 'Kick Off' Greenshields

Wait, what, wasn't that "Dino Dini's Kick Off"??? What's the relationship here? Did Bombo attract any legal interest? I could swear there was a Live and Let Die game? With boat racing possibly? Did being a published book author give you more status (in general), and did it ease you getting sw deals...

Microsoft's eBook store is to close, all users will lose every eBook they "purchased":

Nope, I am not going fully digital. Even if it costs more.

Would you ever go back to coding for the C64?

What was your C64 development setup?

Did you swap ideas and code with any other programmers back then?

Can you still beat any of your old games?

Re: The Google Stadia

The Digital Foundry analysis doesn't convince me that Google has solved the inherent problems of streaming - and that's before we even get into the question of whether streaming is at all desirable. The lag figures they're talking about suggest a delay of about ten frames in a 60fps game, and that'...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 192

I loved the Mark Jones article about his first few weeks at Ocean. More like this please! Thanks for that. I'm chuffed to bits you liked it! You should write a book about all your time there, I reckon people would buy that, I know I would. A lot of work though I guess? Mark is writing a book, this ...

Re: Konami Anniversary Collections

Mixed feelings on this... Digital only but cheap, wondering if it will have the care & attention paid to other compilations (e.g. SNK's recent effort)

Re: The Google Stadia

Nope, not for me. This whole idea of games as a service and having to stream them worries me, doubling down on the problems of "losing" games from your digital library. (Look at all the websites dedicated to telling you what's on the film/TV streaming services and how often they put out messages say...

Re: Mame Advice please

The download was from the Archive.org, not sure if that was the best place to go now, ha ha. I think the Rom set I got might not be complete though. There are few comments about issues on with the download being corrupt. Mine wasn't corrupt, but the site says the download is 58GB, but my completed d...

Re: Questions for Stoo Cambridge

It's In The Chair, so I only get six... I'm always curious about why articles have a set number of pages. In instances like this where you have a lot of great content would there ever be a disscussion about getting extra pages and holding back another small article to another issue? Issues are plan...

Re: Questions for Stoo Cambridge

So, the interview lasted 90 minutes and the transcript is 13,000 words... now to cram as much of the interesting stuff into the article... Looking forward to it, better to have too much that too little :) Yeah... although I have shrunk it down to 5300 words so far, there's plenty of the interesting...

Did they get any complaints around the opening music for cannon fodder on the Amiga?
Stoo: I don't ever recall any complaints, having said that Jon Hare is probably more qualified to answer this question than me.

Really enjoyed the Chris Shrigley and Total War pieces.
Kieren, it's a shame your piece misses out the amazing score table & attract sequence when talking about Bounty Bob Strikes Back.

So Epic Games is now suing the organisers, 'Exciting Events'
I'm not surprised. It was an unofficial event, not endorsed by Epic - and that means the shambles it turned out to be was bad publicity for the game.
