Re: Questions for Howie 'Atari/Gottlieb/Jaleco' Rubin

Were there any games or companies you regret turning down?

Did you feel restricted by Nintendo's policies?

Did you ever suggest changes/ideas that made it into the final game?

Did you sneak in any Easter Eggs/hidden stuff that has not been found?

I've done a search for Magnificent Seven and have come up with loads of posts about compilations with that name. I assume it has some other meaning? And is TheLaird involved?
In this context it refers to seven members who went to another retro forum. The Laird was not one of them.

I always thought it was extremely similar to Cosmic Avenger (or rather, the other way around), which I really liked on the ColecoVision (rented one a few times).
Released the same year, so difficult to say one influenced the other

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Dolittle
Great fun and a clever way of re-inventing the character. But the worst accent since censored van Dyke tried to play a Cockney. It looks like many of Robert Downey Jr's lines were re-recorded or overdubbed because his Welsh accent is awful...

Re: Craziness In the retro community

Thank you for posting this. So this evening was spent reading up in Kieren and his lies (and utterly repugnant treatment of certain retro content creators of recent). I'm actually now considering cancelling my 11 year subscription to RG unless they stop working with him. Three years ago Darren said...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 204

The subs cover is fine, I think it works ok.

Great mix of stuff in this issue, really enjoyed the Jeff Lee interview and the making of Footballer of the Year.

Re: Got a question for a ZX Spectrum legend?

Do you still have any source code or design documents from that era?

What was the worst bug or glitch you had to fix in a game?

Re: Retro Gaming Spotlight: Scramble

I remember this game from the olden days, but I never actually played it. I played a ton of games it influence though. In fact, I had a James Bond game that had a section where you controlled a car/boat and could shoot straight ahead, or drop bombs on a curve. I can't remember which game it is for ...

Re: Best version of Battle Chess or even chess game in general?

Colossus Chess series were good, the later ones (from 4 onwards) had a nice 3D-ish board view similar to Battle Chess

Re: JSW guided tour (issue 201)

Impossible Mission... silly boy. :D Which would be a wonderful idea for the next room-based game guided tour! (obviously joking ^_^) Each room in the C64 version has a number (log in to the computer terminal and it is shown there)... ...but the layout of Elvin Atombender's lair is procedurally gene...

The Judoon are returning for the next series.
And it was a great episode. Been a good series so far, with only one or two minor mis-steps.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 203

More Mario articles? Is there anything else to tell? Issues with Mario, Zelda, Sonic and the sorts on the cover are the ones that make me save my money, unless there is an article I really want to read. If anything it was the "Strike" series article that made me say "not again" - but there were som...
