Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show

The latest video is live now, wherein I have a look at the Atari 7800 version of ASTEROIDS.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Because I've had it on my shelf for literally YEARS (I bought it for 99p with my first PS3) I decided I should probably get started on Deus Ex: Human Revolution. This game was clearly sent to earth by Satan himself to test me. First issue: Would you believe there's a game breaking bug in this game t...

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show

New video is up! After the cutesy-cutesy of Bubble Bobble and its tinkly tunes, I decided I needed to offset it with the ultra-violence of X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE - UNCAGED EDITION for the Playstation 3. https://img00.deviantart.net/dc20/i/2018/256/3/4/x_men_origins___ps3_by_hde2009-dcmqog7.jpg Rev...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Yeah I do think there's a place for it. Steam World Dig seems to suit it, though the sequel used pre-set levels, perhaps because there was more emphasis on platforming? Something like a Worms match is a good use too, as navigating different levels each round is half the fun. Just curious about some...

Re: Emuparadise Shuts Up Shop

Nintendo may have an over-inflated opinion of themselves and their games, and that might make them twonks. But I think they are absolutely playing the long game. Competing with the likes of Sega for people's pennies is a race to the bottom, once they devalue the likes of Super Mario World and A Lin...

Re: Emuparadise Shuts Up Shop

I think this is a good move by Sega, and could suit some other developers. However i can't see Nintendo doing it for a few reasons. Same here. Although, the primary reason that leaps to my mind is 'because Nintendo are a short-sighted bunch of twonks.' I think the notion of rights owners providing ...

Re: Emuparadise Shuts Up Shop

I've just spotted something REALLY interesting on this subject. ETA Prime recently posted a video on Youtube about a legit 'buy to own' package of Sega ROMs available on Steam, which can be bought either in one big $30.00 or individually for - as ETA Prime himself describes 'about a buck apiece.' Th...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

My take on this whole randomly generated content thing is that it suits some games better than others. Dead Cells, for instance, is the kind of thing I can see some people loving while other folks find the randomised aspect of it frustrating. Something like Downwell, on the other hand, seems to us i...

Re: Can i get some feedback?

It could be worse. He could be an IGN reviewer. To add a bit of levity to this thread,it might be worth mentioning that last time I was in my local GAME branch, I overheard somebody at the counter say 'Yeah, I've heard Filip Miucin and those 30 guys who write his pre-draft articles all liked...

Re: Can i get some feedback?

There was a link to buy the shirt (and while I was there I had a look at the user's other designs), it's been modded out as there's a rule that users with less than 50 posts aren't allowed to trade. I've seen the image before, I'm confident this isn't the artist for a number of reasons. I've no qua...

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show

Quickly popping in to share this week's video, which I've had to post a day earlier than planned due to stuff and reasons, etc. In this one, I take a look at the Sega Game Gear version of BUBBLE BOBBLE - and even get into the way it differs from the Master System port it got beforehand. https://img0...

Re: Can i get some feedback?

He's using Paint to edit a design. Since this isn't pixel art done old skool, it's fairly evident he's not created this himself. You're a good one for assuming ill intent of people, aren't you? I'm personally inclined to give the benefit of the doubt until I'm provided with reasonable evidence to d...

Re: Nintendo shut down Emuparadise.

Folks who have hacked the NES Mini have found they can add HUNDREDS of games to it. Which begs the question: if the scope was there for Nintendo to provide more, why didn't they? Sure, the RRP would have likely gone up, but it would have been worth it to some folks. But why should they add more? Ma...

Re: What are you currently playing?

My latest diversion during ccoffee breaks has been Fast RMX on the Nintendo Switch. Some of the reviews I saw for this were a bit mealy mouthed. It's not a perfectly designed game by any stretch, but its a REALLY good little racer. The phase shifting mechanic makes it stand out from F Zero and Wipeo...
