Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show

Had to take a short break from videos to accommodate EGX, some freelance work and a bit of devious plotting for the future. But there's a fresh retro review up right now, of BATTLESHIP for the Nintendo Gameboy. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DpLVEVSWwAE01Bc.jpg Review link: https://youtu.be/KFdJDV8c5DE...

XBox 4, surely?
For now I'm calling it the XBox Whatever as none of us will guess its random name like the last 2.
I'm guessing Microsoft'ss next console will be the Xbox One X 1 triple XXX decaffienated half X. With a twist of lemon.

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

Under a fiver a game is hardly a lazy cash grab. Buy a PS1 and 20 quality games, you could easily blow a lot more than the £90 asking price. This isn't a disc based system with the problems those incur, and it has HDMI out. You could indeed, but I wouldn't bank on most folks thinking about picking ...

Re: Sony announces Playstation 1 Classic

It's nice that Sony are putting some classic PS1 era games in a self contained package, with two controllers (reportedly.) But I'm not as excited for this as I hoped I'd be when the day inevitably rolled around. There are some unknown quantities here. The controllers will need to be decent quality, ...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

As much as I'm RAPIDLY losing patience with the Nintendo Switch (overpriced games because they're on cartridges yet the games are still incomplete, dodgy ports, general Nintendo idiocy, etc) that Megadrive collection does sound interesting. I'd much rather have something like that on the Switch than...

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show

New video is up - and this is probably the biggest game I've covered to date. Certainly the biggest video I've uploaded yet! Agh! My poor broadband connection! This week, I look at HALO: REACH on the Xbox 360. https://img00.deviantart.net/e59b/i/2018/256/5/b/halo_reach___xbox_360_by_hde2009-dcmqoh4....

Re: Backwards Compatability

I actually bought an Xbox One last year JUST to play Xbox 360 games. I've since been cajoled into forking out for genuine Xbox One exclusives and things like the Halo Master Chief Collection. But an Xbox One with external 2TB HD LOADED with old 360 games? Bliss, right there! I do wish Sony would tak...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I've been loaned a PSVR headset while a pal is on holiday. He was even kind enough to give me his copy of The Persistence to fiddle with. Despite assuring me that there were a ton of comfort options, I think its safe to say I can't cope with VR. After one session where I came way feeling a bit giddy...

The latest video is live now, wherein I have a look at the Atari 7800 version of ASTEROIDS.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Because I've had it on my shelf for literally YEARS (I bought it for 99p with my first PS3) I decided I should probably get started on Deus Ex: Human Revolution. This game was clearly sent to earth by Satan himself to test me. First issue: Would you believe there's a game breaking bug in this game t...

Re: HdE's Totally Unoriginal Gaming Show

New video is up! After the cutesy-cutesy of Bubble Bobble and its tinkly tunes, I decided I needed to offset it with the ultra-violence of X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE - UNCAGED EDITION for the Playstation 3. https://img00.deviantart.net/dc20/i/2018/256/3/4/x_men_origins___ps3_by_hde2009-dcmqog7.jpg Rev...

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Yeah I do think there's a place for it. Steam World Dig seems to suit it, though the sequel used pre-set levels, perhaps because there was more emphasis on platforming? Something like a Worms match is a good use too, as navigating different levels each round is half the fun. Just curious about some...

Re: Emuparadise Shuts Up Shop

Nintendo may have an over-inflated opinion of themselves and their games, and that might make them twonks. But I think they are absolutely playing the long game. Competing with the likes of Sega for people's pennies is a race to the bottom, once they devalue the likes of Super Mario World and A Lin...

Re: Emuparadise Shuts Up Shop

I think this is a good move by Sega, and could suit some other developers. However i can't see Nintendo doing it for a few reasons. Same here. Although, the primary reason that leaps to my mind is 'because Nintendo are a short-sighted bunch of twonks.' I think the notion of rights owners providing ...

Re: Emuparadise Shuts Up Shop

I've just spotted something REALLY interesting on this subject. ETA Prime recently posted a video on Youtube about a legit 'buy to own' package of Sega ROMs available on Steam, which can be bought either in one big $30.00 or individually for - as ETA Prime himself describes 'about a buck apiece.' Th...
