Re: Retro Gamer 175

A nice looking issue with some interesting articles, I won't be skipping as much this month as I have done in some resent issues. The calendar was a nice little touch too.

Re: What's your favourite Rob Hubbard song?

This is a tough one, Rob was a pioneer in some respects and its fair to say a good many naff games sold due to his music. As there are so many I like I've chosen one for each chip. For the Atari Pokey I choose Jet Set Willy, the game itself was ruined but the music was unique to this chip. As for th...

Blue Planet II, the first episode was incredible. Superb filming and fascinating wildlife.
I second that. This is another great series from Sir David Attenburough.

Re: Gaming elements that annoy you.

I do hope if the Master Sword appears in this game that that doesn't suffer the same fate. I hate to be that guy, but it does break. However it does regain durability after a set time. Well that just sucks big time, It is after all supposed to be the ultimate all powerful magical sword. What were N...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

A large roundabout near where I live. I have to deal with it on a daily bases during the week. there is no traffic control and most people drive around it at 40MPH. With a near continuous stream of traffic at peek times its very dodgy to join and then there's people using the wrong lanes to jump the...

Re: Introduce yourself

Hi I've only just spotted this thread so a little late, I'm Arnie and have been into the retro scene for some time now and have every copy of Retro Gamer from the start of it all. I got in to computers and gaming when retro was new and still have my first machine the humble ZX81 with 16K Memotech ex...

Re: Gaming elements that annoy you.

any timed mission anything EVER!!! especially the near impossible ones Especially ones where you can stand next to a NPC for an hour but when you talk to them, they suddenly say "This must get to X in 5 mins or it'll explode" or suchlike. It kinda breaks the atmosphere for me a little. I feel the p...

Re: The Greatest Games Systems Of All Time

1 Amiga (10 points) . A great system all round, multi tasking, multi media machines with auto-configure (plug & play) long before Microsoft copied it all. I have 6 of them. 2 Sinclair Spectrum (9 Pts). My second ever computer, simple but fun for it. Fave model the original 128K. I really regret sell...

Gaming elements that annoy you.

After reading the thread game genres you don't like I've been inspired to ask which parts within a game that really annoy you. For example I love to play a good 3D platform game, but have always been annoyed by the seemingly pointless time trial racing section. If I wanted to race I'd play a racing ...

Re: Retro Gamer - ISSUE 174.

I think the quote on the cover sums it up well and really should not have been used. Although I admit these machines are now getting on a bit they do seem to blur the line of what I think is retro, with the exception of increased polygon, pixel counts and speed technology hasn't really move on in an...

I'd have to say any strategy type game and most RPG style. I've never got the hang with all the stats etc.

I totally avoid sports games especially football as I can't stand the real thing.

I've had the same diagonal score on issues 169-173 though the last one was less noticeable.

How to play these chip tunes?

Hi all, I'm new here and would like to ask a question about a problem that's been bugging me for a while. I'm a big fan of retro gaming and computers mainly of the 80's and early 90's, 8 and 16 bit years. As well as collecting a small amount of hardware from these times and playing with emulators I ...
