Re: Who Loved Type-Ins?

I also used to do a lot of type ins. Yes some worked some didn't but wasn't that the fun in trying to correct or make them better. I remember making my own high score entry system on the speccy that would scroll the letters up and down smoothly a pixel line at a time in basic using a joystick with f...

Jesus, why don't people just play on free emulators and roms and be done with retro collecting already.

Re: most ridiculous MEGA RARE on ebay?

If people pay those prices they need their heads examined.

Anyone want an Amstrad hit sqad Enduro Racer cassette, arcade collection No. 1. I'll sell it for £799.99. I'm sure its mega rare one of a kind and all.

Re: Retailers in trouble

I think it is a real shame the way things are going, call me old fashioned but I prefer to see something in the flesh before I buy it, may be even test it out first. This saves on the hassle of repackaging and returning an item that is not up to spec. Lets face it how often do things go back in to t...

Re: Change one thing?

Biggest improvement for the Amiga, and any Home compute for that matter would be the ability to use a 2nd fire button, and use 2 button joysticks. All those games hampered by shitty one button control schemes. The Amiga most certainly could use more than one button, just plug a CD32 pad in any Amig...

Try the internet archive at archive.org. There are many scans of the old mags with type ins.

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

Gotham series 3 - not too bad but dwindling a little now. Assuming the trailers i'm seeing are for season 4 on TV - so i might stick it out. I believe that season four has been picked up by E4. Yes it’s about to start in the next week or so. It’s a shame it’s E4 and not channel 4, the same goes for...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

Oh I’ve met a few of those types in my time. Just make up some real nonsense story and they will always have been there and done it, but in a much better way of course. If you have been to Tenerife then they have been to Elevenerife. So true. What else grinds my gears, phone calls. I hate pho...

If it were the postal services, they are incredibly organised in communicating exactly how and where they'd damage issues to maintain consistency to throw us off the scent.
I have to admit I'd be pretty impressed if they were.

Re: Retro Gamer issue 179

My only gripe is that my issue has the first 34 pages inset by approx 10mm, this makes the text near the centre a little hard to read as the usual border there is cut away meaning the text runs in to the fold. Glad you're otherwise enjoying this issue! Do you mind sending us a photo of the issue wi...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

What grinds my gears lately is when someone thinks they know everything about anything but end up being caught out as a liar, in addition to shaking their leg that much you'd think you were in Japan. You cannot argue with the person about their exaggerative tales nor the 100s of jobs they did befor...

Re: Retro Gamer issue 179

This is looking to be a scourcher of an issue and the gifts are an added bonus. I have yet to play the CD and may already have many of the tracks in my collection bought from C64audio but shall enjoy it none the less. The poster is nice as well, it’s a shame about the passing of artist Bob Wakelin t...

Re: the Hi-Fi thread

For music I have a Marantz CD6000 KI signature CD player and a Pioneer N50A Network Player connected to my home cinema set up of an Onkyo TX NR808 with MK speakers and a REL T7 Sub. It all sound great for music as well as movies as I run the stereo satellite speakers and sub in pure audio for music ...
