Fantasy F1

I'm more a lurker on forums - this is pretty much the only one I actively use, but last year I joined the Retro Canteen F1 Fantasy league. I was rubbish  But they are at it again so I joined up. Anyone here fancy going up against the Canteen? https://ff1gp.com/league-scores/1471-retrocanteen-f1...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 191

I think Amstrad users have to justify their love of the machine as 'normal' people just don't get it :D

I've only ever used Amstrad emulators and not the machine itself - but to me, the games always look like jerky scrolling with coloured in Speccy graphics.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 191

Are you still a moderator of this forum? He's obviously wrong and you are obviously correct. The C64 was considered by most people to be the best games machine. :) I'm going to sit down tomorrow and have a good read of the Amstrad article :) Am I wrong, maybe technically, but here is an old post fr...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 191

C64 totally outsold the competition in Europe and C64 was considered by most people to be the best games machine. I don't see the relevance of this to the Amstrad being cheap crap. We know the C64 and Spectrum are the superior gaming platforms, this is well established fact. Are you still a moderat...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 191

Of course it's cheap crap, it's Amstrad. The return rate of new Amstrad CPCs was much lower than other home computers of the era. Interestingly for Sinclair made Spectrums it is highly recommended to change all electrolytes, on the Amstrad made Spectrums its not a problem. Was the return rate lower...

Re: Back to 80’s vs 90’s dual feature

I also agree with this. back to the 00's is just not interesting.

Also, there must be a feck load of stuff that can be covered in a re-run of the 80's/90's that was missed in the original articles.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 191

Once the Amstrad got going it appeared to have some decent games, often Speccy 'ports' or at least Speccy games with colour but the whole problem with it was that it just got going too late. It was always a distant third, if your mate had an Amstrad it was laughable and they seemed gutted as they c...

Tie between Cabal and New Zealand Story on the Spectrum. One felt like a fantastical voyage through a world of wonder and the other was a simple bullet-to-the-face endeavor. https://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/482939-the-new-zealand-story-zx-spectrum-screenshot-that-looks-like.png https://www....

Pikmin 4 would be a title that would ensure I would buy a Switch.... no news on that though! :(

Wizball on the C64. Everything about that game was (and still is) perfect.

It's a bit odd though isn't it? These American guys come in and say how the place is going to be better as they are looking after it now and then nothing for months!

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 190

With all this talk of foul language, I can't believe nobody has mentioned the constant repeated use of the 'A' word, something nobody needs exposing to, much less kids. Atari? They may have produced some junk in their time, but also did some good... hoping the A is for Amstrad  EDIT: Ah!...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 190

Yeah, no issue with the F word - I just hope the day never arrives when it's acceptable to use the C*NT word! Why is F**K okay but not C**T? They are just 4 letters on a page. You'd not survive in our house for long my then, my GF uses the C-word more than I do, she is Scottish mind! :) The F word ...
