I like RPGs and strategy games (turn-based or otherwise). If pressed I'd say I prefer the western style of RPG (e.g. Dungeon Master) over the eastern style (e.g. Final Fantasy) simply because I prefer the create-your-own-character sandbox style than the epic-storyline-but-have-to-play-as-a-sword-wie...

Voice acting in games

OK, I hope you're all aware of the www.audioatrocities.com site. I want to know quite why voice acting is so poor in some games - namely the ones that have been translated from Japanese. I've been playing Resident Evil 4 recently and it's been a little bit spoilt by the voice acting. The acting itse...

Favourite 8-bit was definitely C64. Favourite overall was probably the Amiga.

PC - Wizardry 8 and Fallout 2

PS2 - Resident Evil 4

WHY? I've completed Resident Evil 4 once already - and I've got about thirty semi-completed games that I need to get on with. Why does Resident Evil 4 keep pulling me back in? WHY?

I've mentioned elsewhere that Midwinter 2 and Syndicate are great games that are now so sluggish that they're unplayable. I would have voted for Resident Evil but planetmatt beat me to it. I respect Pac-man, Space Invaders, JSW and the like for what they heralded. However, they are all utter rubbish...

Re: Is it just me...? Games only I seem to appreciate

Law of the West (C64) Psi5 Trading Company (C64) Rocketball (C64) Oh yes OH YES! I thought it was only me too. These are all totally awesome games. Rocketball was one of those games that took you ages to get to grips with and master, but once you had it was one of the best. 'The Ninja' (AKA 'Ninja ...

This happens to me all the time. I don't remember Midwinter 2 being as sluggish as it appears now, for example.

Same with F-19 Stealth Fighter or Syndicate.

Cybercon 3.

I bought it for my Amiga on the back of a 90%+ review.

It was called CyberCON for a reason, methinks.
