Re: Who likes retrogaming on a projector?

I play my Retron 5 on my home cinema projector, got a 120" electric screen and DLP Home Cinema projector, playing retro games on it is awesome Is that 'easy' to set up ? Had a look on amazon, so what do you need ? Obviously the big screen, the projector itself. Then what ? Do you connect it to a la...

Re: PlayStation 3 - Retro or not?

20 ? So when the magazine launched in 2004 the Speccy was 'just' retro, the Megadrive/NES/SNES/Gameboy etc werent retro ? 20 years is quite some time ! Think some people also go by 10 years Well it ain't a fast-and-hard rule :D For me, retrogaming interests started in the early 2000s with MAME and ...

Re: PlayStation 3 - Retro or not?

To me its not retro but technically it nearly is. I think the cut off point for RG is 15 years isnt it ? When the mag first came out in the early 2000's it would have been weird for me if say the Gameboy wasnt in it as it was 'too new' (eg under 15 years). Us oldies just have to realise that some o...

Re: PlayStation 3 - Retro or not?

Oh and by the way, feel free to suggest PS3 games here if you want, especially if they are suitable for pre-teen kids. Our current small set of games includes: Minecraft Little Bit Planet Lego Star Wars - The Force Awakens Ratchet and Clank - Tools of Destruction Journey Heavy Rain L.A. Noire Skyrim...

PlayStation 3 - Retro or not?

We recently acquired an old PlayStation 3 from friends who had apparently stopped playing with it years ago. IIRC the PS3 has been around for more than a decade now, but would you consider it "retro" already, or is it still too recent? This is obviously a question just for fun  but it came to ...

Who likes retrogaming on a projector?

We have a projector at home, not a very big screen tho, only 2m wide i.e. about 90" on a 16:9 aspect ratio and about 100" on a 4:3 aspect ratio. We use the projector mainly for movies and a recently acquired second-hand PS3, which is still too recent to call it "retro" for my tastes :D but occasiona...

Re: Emuparadise Shuts Up Shop

It's not much about what is right or wrong, but as usual it's about business. Ten or a bit more years ago retrogaming was still a hobby for a bunch of nerds, but now those nerds have careers, a lot more money in the pockets than they know how to spend, and have entered the age of nostalgic feelings:...

The Amiga had a drawbridge scene with a tentacled monster that wasn’t on the arcade. 😧
That's interesting, didn't know that.
Strange that they would be adding more scenes
The drawbridge scene existed in the original arcade Dragon's Lair game, but only in the European version.

Re: Your top 10 8-bit games that are still fun today.

It's impossible to narrow them down to 10, so I'll just spit out the first 10 that comes to my mind... 1. Space Taxi (C64) 2. Boulderdash (C64) 3. Bruce Lee (C64) 4. Spy vs Spy (C64) 5. Atic Atac (ZX) 6. Jet Set Willy (ZX) 7. Super Mario Bros (NES) 8. Sonic the Hedgehog (SMS) 9. Pitfall! (VCS) 10. D...

Re: Controversial gaming opinions

Uhm... I think I might "win" (or "lose", depends how you see it) the thread by saying that, despite my obvious love for videogames, I think that together with television/movies they are one of the reasons for the surge of violent ideas and behaviour in the western world in the last couple of decades...

Re: What's your favourite Nichibutsu arcade game?

I've always found Terra Cresta to be better than Moon Cresta.

I would really like to like Crazy Climber, but I still haven't managed to learn how to properly control the character

How the hell do you guys remember everything? I remember only Fort Apocalypse being my first onwed C64 game, and Defender of the Crown being my first owned Amiga game, but they definitely weren't the first ones I tried if I also consider friends' machines... I have no idea what games I really ...

Not sure why you d...
