I'd like the Ashens book too..
It is much, much smaller than I was expecting, annoyingly.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Couple of nice eBay pickups this week: Managed to get Metroid Prime 1 & 2 on the GC for £9 delivered. Sale ended at 3am and no one else bothered to put in a late bid. Also bagged Game & Watch collection vol.1 for the DS - the Club Nintendo exclusive. Going to try and collect more CN stuff now it's c...

Re: Christmas list

My better(or worse, depends on the way the wind is blowing) half wants a very pricey watch, so I have only accepted this request to sneak some collecting in. Have asked for Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Gotcha Force for the GC. Not sure she's fully aware of how much this is going to cost her as ...

Re: Charity Shops

Charity shop gamehunting is a bit of an obsession of mine. Every charity shop gets retro stuff in from time to time, but it flies off the shelves and as such you're lucky to find stuff if you go into them on the odd occasion. I go to my local crap part of town twice a week to have a rummage. Effecti...

The newest XB1 bundle includes Rare Replay and Ori for £223 from Amazon. Very tempted.

Re: ps2 emulation coming soon to ps4

Depending on how this is implemented (physical disks as opposed to d/l content), I may well have to buy my first 'new' console since the GameCube... The other interesting thing will be how this affects PS2 prices. If they release a lot of the rarer titles as DLC then you can see the prices dropping,...

Re: jxd s7800b

First impressions of the GPD XD are very promising. The service from GPD via AliExpress was exemplary, I have to say. Arrived from Hong Kong less than 14 days after purchase. The d-pad is very ordinary, but the analogue sticks are exquisite so you can use those without any bother. This was the bigge...

Re: jxd s7800b

By way of a quick follow up to this, I decided against the JXD and have ordered a GPD XD instead after reading the reviews and level of support for the GPD over on the Dingoonity forums. I love the idea of the full handheld option, so fingers crossed it arrives from China in less than 32 pieces. I ...

Re: jxd s7800b

As someone who loves his Pandora I've been following this project with some interest, could be the best handheld for emulation ever: https://boards.openpandora.org/pyramain/main/ It'll probably cost the earth though. If the previous iteration is anything to go by then £600+ is a given I would have ...

A colleague has one and got it direct from JXD, £20 cheaper than Funstock too (relative to exchange rate at the time, I guess), so will probably go via that route.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

^ Those are some great pickups! Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is pretty good but it's the DS games that are most exciting. Phantasy Star Zero sucked up way too much of my time. I got the DS games mainly for Custom Robo Arena. The lot was a BIN (from memory, or it was no bids) £20 - and sealed copies of CRA s...

Re: jxd s7800b

You'd be buying from the providers of those ropey Mega Drive units as well as the Game Gadget, perhaps one of the most underhanded and deceitful releases in gaming history. I make it a point to steer clear of Blaze and Funstock since that debacle. I have just put 2 + 2 together and realised (finall...
