Re: Which machine had the best games per its overall output?

I think the Original Gameboy might be in with a shout. Looking at this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSKtbfiF-8U there were some simplistic titles and some potentially annoying ones but there weren't really any that had no redeeming features whatsoever. My only complaint with the original GB...

Re: Resident Evil is 20 years old this month!

I've played all the main Playstation 1+2 entries (1-4, CV, Outbreak) and have fond memories from the 1st game, namely the "Keeper's Diary"; it was little touches like this that helped engross the player in the situation. Even though it was bigger in every way i'd say i enjoyed #2 equally, it moved m...

Re: Which machine had the best games per its overall output?

Don't be so quick to dismiss the PS2, yes it had considerably more games than most consoles (2278 in PAL). But between 33% and 50% of them are well worth playing, the only limitation being what genres the player is interested in: For example there were around 70 Football games on the console, they'r...

Re: What are you currently playing?

Still plodding through Pokemon Ruby on the GBA. As a type of game that i've avoided for so long, i can't say i'm not enjoying myself on my train journies. I don't have any urge to buy any others in the series though.

Re: RIP (?) Lionhead studios

I would say it's a shame that Lionhead has gone, but to be honest i'm not really bothered. As stated before; all they were really doing lately was making Fable sequels. I did enjoy the first Fable but wasn't interested in playing more of the same. I adore Black & White 1 though, it was the first tim...

Re: Fantasy F1 League 2015

Woo hoo! Thanks! It was my 1 lucky year, the rest of my teams were up to my usual standards: 450th being my next highest team in the overall c'ship! Was fun to join a league, not tried that before in previous years. Congratulations to everyone who played. I can't really offer helpful advice as my hi...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Still buying GameBoy games. In the past couple of weeks i've bought: Alleyway, Dr Mario, Splitz and Lamborghini American Challenge. I realise i could invest in a GameBoy Color or Advance, but i don't want to be buying tons of GB games and (strange as it sounds) the libraries are too big and i will ...

Re: quintessential spectrum and cpc action games

I'm late to the party, but always eager to talk CPC. There's only one CPC recommendation topic, so rather than strictly stick to the guidelines of the OP this is an all-genre list of recommendations. Platform: Chuckie Egg Rainbow Islands Rick Dangerous 2 Puzzle: Split Personalities Puzznic Driving/R...

Re: What game have you COMPLETED this week

It's not really Retro, but Tomb Raider 2013.

Too much exposition for my liking, i prefer games that have more action and less story. In fact if it wasn't for the jumpy bits it played a lot like modern Resident Evil. Overall a step backwards for the franchise but still fun nonetheless. 7.5/10

Re: Fantasy F1 League 2015

How is everyone doing? I'm currently 3rd and 10th. There's less than 10 points between myself and Hiro. I'm luck that I'm in 3rd - after Lewis' race yesterday. BarbaricAvatar is just invincible this year. He has such a huge lead. Don't forget to keep entering your predictions for extra points. It's...
