Re: What are you currently playing?

Still going through my PS3 collection. Currently on Goldeneye Reloaded . It's not bad, but the difficulty levels are daft; the game isn't any harder on the higher levels, you just get non-regenerating health. I'm finding this is the case for a lot of PS3 games, they seem to be designed for "trophy m...

Re: Mini Sega Megadrive anyone?!

I'm not sure what they could do to encourage people to shell-out for one if they already own the Megadrive collections on PS2/3. A Mini would likely include all the same games, because they're the big hitters. The only way i can see Sega making it worhtwhile is to make the system handheld. Mini Mega...

Re: Your top 10 8-bit games that are still fun today.

I'm sure there must be a reason why no one has posted any Gameboy games. AFAIK it's an 8 bit system, but maybe i don't know enough! I can't begin to think about ranking them, so just a list of 10: Rick Dangerous 2 (CPC) Chuckie Egg (CPC) Turbo Esprit (CPC) Gauntlet (CPC) Robocop (CPC) Lost Caves and...

Re: Quintessential Games

It's hard separating my own favourites from what is objectively the best of a genre. Then again, i'm not going to suggest games i don't like even if they are considered the best by most! 1. Platformer - Super Mario World 2. Shoot 'em up - Chicken Invaders 4 3. Adventure - The Curse of Monkey Island ...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Yakuza 2 (PS2) for £55.
Had to bite the bullet, i stupidly believed the price was going to come down last year when i chose not to buy it at £30. I've missed the boat on a chunk of games, but this was the "one that got away".

I'm in again, i seem to be getting worse at choosing the right teams though so don't expect to make the top 3.

Re: Formula 1 Fantasy League 2017

Ocon and Grosjean crashing into each other in Brazil sealed my fate as not going to win this year. Well done marcopoloman, you might yet get 1st and 2nd in the league!

Re: Games genres that you just don't like

Visual Novels - Worse than those extremely limited DVD "games" that did the rounds at the turn of the century. JRPG's - One step on from Visual Novels. "Sit back and watch the game take care of all that annoying interaction stuff for you, so that you can get back to micro-managing, while preparing ...

Re: Formula 1 2017 thread

I'm in again! I had a shockingly bad 2016, not getting a single team in the top 100 by season-end even though i won overall in 2015! Not making the mistake of choosing McLaren for anything this time! :D

Last year was a flash in the pan for me. Back to normal this year; not even in the top 100 in the world league. :D

Re: Which machine had the best games per its overall output?

I think the Original Gameboy might be in with a shout. Looking at this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSKtbfiF-8U there were some simplistic titles and some potentially annoying ones but there weren't really any that had no redeeming features whatsoever. My only complaint with the original GB...

Re: Resident Evil is 20 years old this month!

I've played all the main Playstation 1+2 entries (1-4, CV, Outbreak) and have fond memories from the 1st game, namely the "Keeper's Diary"; it was little touches like this that helped engross the player in the situation. Even though it was bigger in every way i'd say i enjoyed #2 equally, it moved m...
