Pawn Shop Rule. If you sell something to a shop that the shop doens't normally stock, there is no way to buy the item back, even though the shopkeeper still has it. :D

Re: Hot Topic - Best Handheld

Original gameboy all the way. Released over a decade before the GBA. Everyone here agrees the GBA is like a portable SNES. Other than being portable, I'd say it pretty much IS a SNES... only doing it all 10 years after the SNES did it first. Nice SNES remakes and ports. I love it, got a launch JP SP...

Re: Your thoughts on the Virtual Boy?

My most played game was Vertical Force. The VB is basically a gameboy with the quality games + portability replaced with a limited 3d effect. Not a good trade off. Wasn't it marketed as a 32bit system? It really is pretty crappy if the truth be known. I don't think anyone is genuinely impresse...

Re: Issue 74

The layout, art and design of the magazine is superb. It gets better each month and is lightyears ahead of the mag a couple of years back. I love all the time spent on the little touches. The graphics, layout and colour for the Spy vs Spy article for instance... It's made for the game, can't be used...

Re: From the forum question Issue 63

The Gameboy Light is the best handheld of all time. 2xAA batteries will keep this baby running all week, including eerie green glow. Not having to worry about charging is a convenience you don't get with other handhelds. It's why I still keep a Light with me in 2009... That and the fact that gameboy...

Re: Recommend me some Gameboy games

Personal Favs: Link's Awakening, Metroid 2, Trax, Radar Mission, X, Donkey Kong, Castlevania 2, Balloon Kid, R-type 1/2, Buster Bros / Pang, Wario Land 1/2, Super Mario Land 1/2, Super RC ProAm...

I don't think there's a single complaint (yet) regarding the rise from long-term subs. I'm amazed it's been kept at £15 for so long tbh.

The timing of this increase does suck though. This month I've started to tighten purse strings and another pound a month on RG is another pound from the salary.

I can't stand 'tactics' games. Moving people around a small grid like they're chess pieces isn't fun. It's the most boring type of game i've ever come across. I was really excited to buy Final Fantasy Tactics when it came out on GBA, but found it tedious nonsense. I couldn't understand what all the ...

Print is suffering in this economic decline, or so I hear. Generally, niche titles tend to weather recessions fairly well, because people cut back on the very large luxuries (new TVs, holidays), but retain their small bits of happy (favourite magazines, CDs of favourite artists, etc.) quote] Good t...

Eastern Promise is a favourite of mine. Japanese gaming history is MY gaming history, as well as that of thousands of others that have imported since the 90s. I'm still importing top titles like Under Defeat and soon to be released Thunderforce 6. No suprise people who are mad over the 80s UK micro ...

Kid Dracula (gameboy version) is a fantastic Konami parody of Castlevania. Very funny. An excellent little game.
Belmont's Revenge is a top, top gameboy game too - possibly a joint favourite with the SNES Castlevania 4.

I'm a lover of the mono GB too, and have built up a shoebox of ace carts. I've never spent more than 1 or 2 pounds on each one, so it's a very accessible console to anyone that wanted to start a collection. Not to mention that many games, even arcade conversions, were simply brilliant. If someone we...

The bit in issue 9 just isn't enough. For some reason the gameboy isn't very collectable when it's actually quite amazing. The fact that people can pay £100+ for a game 'n' watch, but I can pick up Castlevania 2 for 99p is their loss and my gain. Please re-visit the gameboy and spread the love - it...
