Re: Food/Drink from the past

New York Seltzer.
This wasn't around in the UK for very long during the late 80s and as far as I can remember it was only available from Woolworths unless you can get (legally mugged for the price of one) at one of those American import shops.

Re: Phones 4 U Goes into Administration

EE have offered to buy some of the branches and I've been in a similar situation myself. Nobody who worked in the NETTO (Scandanavian for using bar stards) shops was told that NETTO were pulling out of the UK (Good riddance and don't come back). I only found out when I logged onto the internet. Anyw...

Re: What's best: Cartridge, CD-ROM...or cassette??

All formats have their pros and cons. But personally, I like to have a proper printed manual to read while installing new software. These days, some gamers want their game to load up in split seconds rather than 30-40 seconds. What I'd like to do get some fourteen year old gamer who's used to high f...

Re: Made In Britain

Got it on DVD (with a waste of space like Trevor, it could have been on for longer) and got the sound track on MP3 (It's called UK82 by The Exploited). But the way the skinhead carried on, he was the biggest censored going. Also got Romper Stomper on DVD and skinhead music on my MP3 as well and ther...

Re: The Great Video Game Crash

It was th Atari versions of ET and Pac Man that were mainly responsible according to Video Game Invasion. But PC these days're world war 3 simulations, Dungeouns and Dragons rip offs or point and click games. I remember when my local GAME have loads of space for PC Games (I missed the DOS, Atari ST,...

Re: Casio VL1 or similar keyboards

I don't think these old keyboards will ever go out of fashion. Wasn't there a Lady Gaga song a couple of years back that featured a VL-1? They might only have been toys back in the day, but they've probably been on more hit records than many a serious instrument. Exactly. The German band Trio's sin...

Re: Casio VL1 or similar keyboards

Yes, I had a go on a Casio VL1 back in the day but I swear, I had no intention of getting into digital music at the time. It was only until a few years ago that I started giving digital music another go. I might not be Lucas, Speilberg or Scorcsece but I''ve done a a bit of animation using a very ch...

Made In Britain

Did anybody see Tim Roth's screen debut as a waste of space racist skinhead in the one off (and never repeated) play Made In Britain?

Re: What Manga/Graphic Novels/Comics....

I've only seen the DVD and read a few of the mangas but I've got the actual novel of Battle Royale. Its a good way to deal with gun/knife gangs-take one of the gangs on a 'day out', gas them, but explosive collars around their necks, dump 'em on an abandoned estate which is going to be demolished an...

Re: The Gallery!

With the right font and software, it's actually possible to combine Sinclair style text and graphics with modern clip art and photography with an '80s soundtrack. I've actually tried and animated it but the project's in development hell due to lack of ideas. BTW, the birds on the said sequence ARE N...

Why else would anyone buy Barbarian 2?
Why d'you think (The Page 3 model might be a good reason)?
