Re: Movies that never got games

There haven't been enough games based on martial arts films - probably because the films aren't high-budget enough to grab the attention of developers? Enter the Dragon would make a fantastic game (not necessarily as a 1 on 1 fighter either). It even has made to measure 'bosses'. I'd also like to se...

Re: Yet Another Mega Drive Collection

Alex Kidd and Altered Beast are both pretty cack too. Sonic 3 and S+K would have been much better choices.
Of course to get a true picture of what was happening on the MD back in the 90s they'd need some Micro Machines games and some of the classic sports titles.

Re: Yet Another Mega Drive Collection

Off the top of my head, some games they should have included for which licencing should present no problem: The Ooze Super Fantasy Zone Super Hang On Eternal Champions Any of these would be preferable to third rate filler like Super Thunderblade or Galaxy Force - these are games which just don't sta...

Re: Yet Another Mega Drive Collection

There are some excellent games on this collection but they've mostly been released multiple times already (and I have the vast majority as original carts anyway). It's disappointing that there aren't any shmups on the collection - there were some really excellent ones on the MD. Licencing problems I...

Re: Change one thing?

Whatever it would take to give the N64 decent textures. Goodness, they were absolutely dreadful, and really let some games down imo N64 textures dreadful? I guess you must be a fan of the horrible wobbly and pixely PlayStation textures then... Yes, yes I am. A huge fan of the wobbly pixelate...

Re: Infamous- PS3

It's quite interesting looking back on this thread and seeing the hype machine working its magic on what was actually a rather censored game. I think I got this on PSN for free when Sony screwed up and their network went down for a bit and offered games as compensation. Yet to touch it in all...

Re: Quintessential Games

I've changed my mind. I think the quintessential platformer is probably Manic Miner or Jet Set Willy and for driving/racing it would be Pole Position or Chequered Flag. If you were teaching an alien about computer games, anything they learnt while playing these games would still be relevant for abou...

Re: Quintessential Games

1. Platformer - Super Mario Bros. 3 2. Shoot 'em up - Nemesis/Gradius 3. Adventure - Wonder Boy in Monster World 4. Driving game - Need for Speed 5. RPG - Kings Bounty or if Zelda Counts then Link's Awakening 6. FPS - Turok (but I'm not really a fan of the genre. I like Far Cry games though). 7 Spor...

Re: Your fave FPS series

I went for Far Cry.
I'm not a massive fan of the FPS genre and can't stand 'deathmatch' style multiplayer. I like the structure of the Far Cry games and they're really more of a first person adventure than a true FPS series (the last entry didn't even have any guns in it).

Re: First games you played on each system

ZX Spectrum 16k - Gobble a Ghost (the first after upgrading to 48k was Scuba Dive). Vic 20 - River Raid BBC Micro - Granny's Garden (or it may have been Dragon's World) Commodore 64 - Nebulus NES - Super Mario Bros (along with other classics on the shop demo multi-cart - Castlevania, Punch Out, Kid...

Re: What's your favourite Nintendo arcade game?

Punch Out is undoubtedly the best! I'd probably put Donkey Kong 3 or Donkey Kong Jnr next. I find these the most fun games of Nintendo's arcade output. Mario Bros is one of my all time most loathed games - just not fun in any way and the characters control horribly. Donkey Kong isn't too bad but I d...

I want to know if that's what Frank Bruno's signature really looks like.
Surprisingly neat writing for a boxer.
