Re: Who are the people that buy games and throw away the box

Something I've found out just recently is that CEX don't seem to put 'no instructions' stickers on their stock. I bought a few games last week and 2 of them had no instructions in the cases when I got them home. Fortunately they were really cheap PSP games and I wasn't too bothered. It's a bit cheek...

Re: Quartet

This game was well loved by kids at my school as a shop nearby had the cabinet it and we used to go and play after school. I loved it at the time but maybe it doesn't stand up as well as some other games of the era. The other cabinet they had in that shop was Ghosts and Goblins - great game but your...

Re: Alien Syndrome

Wait, so it wasn't released on Mega Drive!
*Google-search*

Ok, I was mixing up Alien Syndrome on Master System with the box art for Alien Storm on Mega Drive. Now I'm not sure whether I've played Alien Storm!

Re: Alien Syndrome

I think it's a pretty well known game. I definitely played it in the arcades in Yarmouth and remember playing the MegaDrive version too. It was never one of my favourites though - I always found it really hard. I think it's perhaps one of those games which needs to be played with two fairly competen...

I think I also still have a Killer Instinct (SNES) that's in a long box with a free watch. Can't see any on ebay so it guess it may be rare.

Re: Who are the people that buy games and throw away the box

Didn't realise the big box Super Metroid was so valuable! I have one that I bought on special offer in Boots back in the 90s.

Who are the people that buy games and throw away the boxes?

I'm sure we've all bought games second hand that are sold as 'cart only' but has anyone actually ever known someone to buy new games and then just chuck the boxes? I can sort of unstandardised that NES/SNES boxes get ruined easily but games that come in plastic cases? I mean, seriously, these things...

Re: Boss Rush games

Isn't Alien Soldier pretty much one big boss rush? As for newer games, Vanquish pretty much has boss rushes. They're not as formally structured as the 16 bit examples you give but there are frequent examples of enemies that were, for all intents and purposes, bosses early in the game that return lat...

Re: All about the handhelds

I'd have to go with the original Game Boy. It had loads of technical limitation, the screen was small and sometimes hard to see. Despite all that it came packed in with the greatest hand held game of them all and soon boasted a library of genuinely great games. It was affordable, practically bullet ...

Re: Best "beat-em-up" series?

I was a big fan of The Punisher in the arcade.
I also liked the Spider Man game where you could play as Sub Mariner or Hawkeye.

Re: Wii U Owners Thread - Including User IDs

My copy arrived yesterday so I had an early go last night. Literally just played for about 15 mins. I can already tell that it's going to be bonkers brilliance and it was a safe bet since I loved the first one. I also opted for the special double pack. It cost me less than forty quid so it seemed li...

Stop the Express on the Spectrum.

I can;t actually remember much about it other than that it was painfully frustrating and after dying over and over I got really upset and had an argument with my dad. Awful game - never played it again.

I've been after that Twinbee collection but haven't found it at a good price.
