Re: Retro Gamer issue 166

Seems like quite a good issue. Some articles I'm looking forward to reading. I'm not sure about the fact that there are two articles about non-retro games in there. There's one about Chronosoft, and one about Yookalaylie. Both are good but they aren't really retro - as they are produced today. The ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 165

The time has come for me to stop reading the magazine. Not because of the content - it looks like a great issue, but because I physically find it difficult to read, even with my reading glasses on. Its actually frustrating, and a stop start experience. I also read Private Eye, Viz, BBC History and P...

Re: First games you played on each system

ZX81 - Came with the Sinclair cassette tape which had lots of poor type in quality games on it, I remember quite liking Lunar Lander; Also QS Asteroids which was ok but your ship was represented by a number from 0 to 9 which told you which way it was pointing! Loved it though. ZX Spectrum - First tw...

Re: Upgrade path for home compute

ZX81 Computer my father brought home, loved it. Happy memories of Inca Curse and Asteroids. ZX Spectrum Favourite computer I ever owned. Still have it and play it, although now with a DivIDE adaptor. Amstrad 1512 PC Really enjoyed this. My first PC. Played many an Infocom game on this. 386 SX33 It j...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 164

Read it all now. Match Day, Gauntlet II, ET, Minority Report, Hunchback and Action Replay were great. Top Ten article was good, but as others have said did overplay their importance a bit - they weren't exactly Ultimate were they. Resident Evil and Slimeworld were too long for me. RE I suppose under...

Re: Sinclair QL

I had 2 QL's and an absolute ton of games, software, and books. Turned them on once or twice. The games were mostly awful. It is a nice curio but that is about it. Sold it all about 5 years ago. I don't regret it. This is uncannily like my experience of QL's. I wanted one for ages, then acquired tw...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 164

You are right of course.
I think it's just become apparent as the last four weeks have had big articles I don't want to read.
Not a problem though, lots of other good stuff in there.

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 164

A good issue. I'm enjoying it. My only issue is the massive articles on a single game that happen every month now. These are fine if you like the game but if you don't (i am not interested in RE, Tomb Raider, Pokemon or Chase HQ in the last 4 issues) then its a lot of space taken up in the magazine ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 163

Quite a good issue. Liked a lot of it. Didn't bother with the Tomb Raider stuff as its a game I actively dislike. I do understand lots of people like it though, so fair enough it being there. The thing that did make me laugh though was in the Diablo piece, which was a good article by the way. At one...

Re: New Rogue One Trailer

Finally got to see this last night. I think maybe the child in me is starting to disappear :( I did enjoy the film, but just didn't find it an exciting experience. Preferred episode 7 to this, but will watch again when it's available on 3d Bluray. This is a bit how I felt about it. I saw it last we...

Re: secret santa 2016 (mods please sticky)

Thank you to my brilliant Secret Santa. The Hot Wheels Millenium Falcon is great, as is the Darth Vader Lego torch. They definitely satisfy my obsession with all things Star Wars, My pocket Atari Breakout is similarly fantastic. Love Atari stuff, and Breakout a particular favourite. Great presents, ...

Re: New Rogue One Trailer

This is what I think should happen. Disney to admit that the first films i-iii were utter garbage and that they're going to do them again properly. Well obviously they can't do that, but there's nothing to stop them remaking or rebooting them. Keep the pod race, Darth maul and the beginnings of the...

Re: Mario coming to phones, iOS first in 2016.

Downloaded it. Played it for 5 minutes. Absolute garbage. Looks nice, but it's really not Mario like to play, just Mario bolted onto a game mechanic I dislike. There''s far better games of this genre on iOS... and importantly they don't cost 8 quid to play. Poor show Nintendo. Poor show. Well I thn...
