Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

If you read my posts I never said I didn't enjoy it, just that I'd never heard of them or any of their games. I actually quite enjoyed the article - I have heard of Ed Rotberg etc. - It was just a comment about how obscure they were. It was a minor comment, but one that somebody felt the need to def...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

What a bizarre response to my piece of feedback. Why would I post a message saying how great it was to learn about something I hadn't heard of when it is not what I think. Stop trying to tell me what to write. It's a feedback thread. I've left feedback. You don't agree with my feedback, but that ok ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

Having now read it its my least favourite book issue for a while. Good bits are Scramble, Text Adventures (Hobbit and Pawn minority issues aside), Kwah and Dizzy (hate the game, but interesting article.) The rest is just not to my taste really.. So for me a bit meh. Also I've never heard of Bally Se...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

I've flicked through it. Nowhere near as good as previous issues for me. Not much of interest to my tastes. Also since when is 'The Hobbit' an obscure text adventure? Surely there are enough little known text adventures out there without including 'The Hobbit' in Minority Report. The Hobbit is one o...

Re: New forum - issues and complaints

Sounds a bit like punishing the whole class cos some kid set the fire alarm off. Oh well, not my forum, not my decision. This... Ridiculous way to behave. It is the beginning of the end of this forum with this move, and I can't help thinking that that is what the people at the top want anyway. Much...

Re: Retro Gamer 168

I think the art direction of RG is ambitious and from a distance the magazine looks beautiful. However some of the text to background colour choices are maddening. White text on light orange backgrounds for example. Also putting pictures behind the text makes some articles harder to read than they s...

Re: Retro Gamer 168

Just seems a shame. Particularly as the Star Wars article and the Imagine articles were two of the best in the magazine. Yet were the two most ilegible. As an aside though, the Star Wars article was hard to read not because of poor printing, but poor art design choices, surely the editor has a say o...

Re: Retro Gamer 168

Oh alright they did comment. I missed that. Apologies to Darran.
Still you'd think the editor would have some sway if lots of people can't read the articles properly.

Re: Retro Gamer 168

Many complaints this month about hard to read articles in the magazine. No comment from any magazine employees.
I expect they are too busy bannng people for clearly satirical posts, they've no time left to think about making a magazine where you can actually read the excellent articles.

Re: Discuss - 169

I always liked Q A I O P on the ZX Spectrum's keyboard. Or Q W SPACE for Jet Set Willy.
Not early Ultimate games though... QWERT was on of the worst keyboard control options ever.

For proper controllers the Gamecube was my favourite.

Re: Retro Gamer 168

I can't read half the Imagine article in my copy of the mag. Some pages ok but others have a darker blue background and all the white text is blurred. Like looking at it without glasses on :( I had the same problem with a couple of the articles, and my brother's copy was the same too! So yeah, defi...

As people have mentioned before. SJW's and liberals who are all for free speech and a voice and equality until they get their own way and seem to automatically get angry and indignant, I know its the daily mail but this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4546704/Professor-called-racist-asked-r...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

i'm slowly working through seinfeld a few episodes at a time as its up on amazon. the show completely passed me by when it originally aired in the 90's, did a little bit of digging around and see a mention of how the bbc's scheduling was partly to blame as to why it never really picked up and got h...
