Re: Clone Consoles

Time for a thread bump! I just came across this Game Boy Clone and thought it was really neat, it's exactly what you would expect a Game Boy to look like had they done a horizontally orientated version. https://i.imgur.com/CwxGHPU.jpg?1 Thats pretty cool - but what does it actually do? Just literal...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

That's all I want from a car, I just want to get from A to B as easy and safely as possible. My dad has an auto and said he'd let me have a go, I can only imagine it will be much preferable. I've not commited to the idea yet, got a few days to think on it, I'm 50/50 at the moment. :| Yep, autos are...

Re: What grinds your gears ?

My insurance cooling off period ends on Thursday and I'm wondering if I should just cut my losses now and try to find an automatic, everybody says I'll get the hang of the gas and clutch eventually but I just don't have faith in my ability to go when i want to at the moment, which could be dangerou...

Re: games where the original was best

Shenmue I think I'd agree with that based on personal experiences....i bothered to finish Shenmue, where as I think I only got about halfway through the second. I am not sure if its because Shenmue 1 was actually superior, or because the whole "Shenmue" novelty had worn off (think the sequel does h...

Re: What Films/TV Have you Watched Recently?

I've been watching the latest season of "Orange is the New Black" (Season 6?). Not everyones cup of tea, but I really enjoy the humour and that it has so many different and unusual characters in it, which the writers flesh out and develop, creating many interactions that you wouldn't expect. Oh, and...

Re: IRC Retro Gaming Chat 9pm Sunday August 5th

Quite an unusual number of "characters" came on last night, some briefly and with little to say! Next time, don't be shy!

Re: IRC Retro Gaming Chat 9pm Sunday July 29th

See you all tonight, retro squares. I look forward to briefly observing a mystery guest log in, then disappear without saying anything (or getting booted by Spactor).

Re: Selling sealed Radiant Silvergun - looking for advice

£250 for Radiant Silvergun? I feel sorry for genuine collectors wishing to pay through the nose for stuff like this, when others just treat this industry as a business and way to make a quick quid. Its an awful lot of money for a jewel case, instructions and a compact disc with an ISO on, when you c...

Re: Streets of Rage 2 - Runs Slow WTF?

I thought the PAL 50Hz was probably TOO obvious a problem to point out here, since the OP did make the point that the speed of the other games were fine, and the intro music of SOR2 sounded normal. That said, if you're going to compare it to SOR 2 footage on youtube, it could likely be comparing 50h...

Re: What did you prefer: cassettes or 5¼" floppies?

Hmm, I didn't think it was trolling. I just assumed everyone accepted that because the Spectrum was quickest at loading tapes without sacrificing reliability, and the coloured loading bars gave you a good indication of anything that was wrong. So are there people here in the know who think the C64 ...

Re: IRC Retro Gaming Chat 9pm Sunday from July 15th

The biggest sporting weekend of the year arrives with both the men's singles final at Wimbledon and the World Cup Final not only on the same day, but probably at the same time as well, the first occasion that's ever happened. England of course won't be in that final, and truth be told they didn't d...

Re: What did you prefer: cassettes or 5¼" floppies?

Looking at the answers, it's clearly dependant on what computer you had. It it were an Atari 8 bit, then disks were better cause tapes took three years to load. The C64 wasn't much better till later on when turbos brought load times under six minutes. With the Spectrum though - the best micro for t...
