Re: Got me a PSP - Now what?

The SNES9x emulator I have is reasonable for games that don't use Mode 7. Yes its not perfect, but its playable. I tend to use the Xperia Play for SNES emulation on the move, as that runs really well. Agree about Amiga - really disappointing that a 333Mhz CPU can't emulate its 7Mhz one. I know its m...

Re: RetroN 5 Thoughts

it would appear the most cost effective way of playing retro games with 100% accuracy and authenticity is to purchase flash carts. I have recently started this with the Everdrive 64 and its superb, tempted to look into some of the other ones. I appreciate its not good for "collection" purposes, but ...

Re: Got me a PSP - Now what?

It'll improve the games you already own. You can rip the UMDs to memory stick for much reduced load times. You can have more than one game in the system while on the go. You get access to an overclocking menu (really a 'normal clocking' menu, since the PSP runs under full speed with early games lik...

Re: Nintendo 64 Favourites/Collection

A wonderful console, full of unique and colourful games. Sure, its not the best console of all time, but a good solid effort. I absolutely love the picture of all those N64 carts that a poster put on this thread. He must be very pleased with that collection. I only own about 14 carts, so won't bothe...

Re: Got me a PSP - Now what?

No, I know what you mean. I just sometimes get fed up of people saying that the PSP is rubbish without it being hacked. I know you weren't saying anything that harsh but I was compelled to defend the UMD library. 'Acquiring' PSP games may be good for some but acting like Captain Blackbeard has neve...

Re: Got me a PSP - Now what?

Congratulations on your PSP purchase. Its a terrific handheld (although fairly weak out of the box) I have to disagree and say that there are plenty of official PSP releases to make it worthwhile without the system being hacked. I've been very happy with mine for many years and I've not once consid...

I'll be playing Doom on the Sega Saturn for the first time this week - I hear that is the best version

Re: SFII (SNES) vs. SFII (MD)

Both look reasonably similar, maybe the SNES colours were brighter and more varied, but ultimately the two key differentiators were control pad and sound. The SNES controller with its shoulder buttons revolutionised controllers and the way beat-em ups used them. The sound is also vastly superior on ...

Re: Gran turismo 6

No idea! I vaguely remember setting it up, thought there was a prompt at some point.....? I don't seem to remember having any issue with GT5. Its bizarre, i assumed they used a smaller screen for technical reasons and make the frame rate smoother. (its still a bit ropey either way). As you can see,...

Cos your settings are wrong - you've got the graphics output set to a smaller TV, easily changed in the Options.
Really? Why would this occur on GT6 and no other PS3 game? Why would the default not be like any other game?

Re: Gran turismo 6

I have GT6 and its rather disappointing, both technically and what it offers over GT5 (ie not much). Forza 2-4 are much better games in virtually every regard. The car list is admittedly about 600 in Forza compared to 1100 in GT6, but the car selection in Forza is a lot better than i think 1100+ car...

Re: The gaming you just 'had to have' at all cost

The SNES, after an agonising wait for it to be released in the UK, I had been reading about SMIV, Super Tennis and F-Zero, and the other great games it promised, I was not going to be denied on release day, went into Boots, they had sold out, so Woolworths it was, they only had one left, and it had...

Re: It's Back! Secret Santa 2013!!!

The presents people are receiving are showing real thought and consideration. It's what I love about this forum. However, even though its Christmas I must express my concerns over the gift I recieved (and secret santa whoever you are) Courtesy of my secret santa: http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/...
