You could bet your life on that.
I'm not a gambling man, and I wouldn't bet my life on anything....instead, i'll bet my copy of Independence Day on the Saturn.

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I'd go along with the sentiments that the Model 1 is the slightly better looking console but the Model 2 had the better controller. Some more recommendations: Baku Baku (ace puzzler, generally goes for a few quid either side of £15) Fighters Megamix (VF vs Fighting Vipers dream match, usually less ...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I'll youtube it and take a peek at Die Hard on there. £40 seems the going rate for an average copy of it, and can't really justify that at the moment.

I'm however willing to swap it though : I will give you Casper or Independence Day on the Saturn :-)

Dark Forces was a poor conversion of the PC game (which was decent). It was a great idea, but poorly executed on the PS1.

Re: What are you currently playing?

I'm certainly enjoying it, and it is the best football game of the era that I've played. Unfortunately the copy of Die Hard Arcade I ordered arrived today, so SWWS has been put to one side for now. Die Hard Arcade seems to be quite collectable, they don't go cheap, so sadly i'm leaving that out for...

Re: Nintendo 64 Favourites/Collection

Just Dark Rift and yeah, 3 copies of Goldeneye. The original (PAL cartridge only) is a shared game I bought with my sister back in the day. As it wasn't technically mine I bought my own (boxed). Then when I started switching over to NTSC (hence the other duplicates), I got an NTSC one. I also modif...

BC on the XO? More chance of winning the lottery ....... if you forgot to put it on. I think you are right, but i'm sure they'll be happy to charge us again to download Xbox 360 "classics". At least PSN has a really good catalogue of downloadable PS1/PS2 and PS3 games....although i have no idea whe...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I've owned more Saturn hardware than games I must confess.. I'll know who to turn to if my one breaks down :) Its a beautiful machine, and seems solidly built, I like it. All three consoles from that generation do look nice though. Have to say, my initial impressions of the Saturn as a games ...

Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

You two are definitely Saturn-heads! Good stuff! I do like the look of the Grey Saturn, but there is that fear it will yellow, as you mentioned. My grey Playstation doesn't quite have the same look as it used to, neither does my SNES, Amiga or Dreamcast, although they're not too bad. AH, that remind...

Re: What are you currently playing?

SWWS97 is fine also. Just 98 has some extra moves and better gfx. I remember a wee bit of a backlash in 98 when a lot of Saturn gamers seemed to prefer 97. Seems to be the same with ISS 64 and ISS 98 on the N64. Everyone loved the original, and it was the best ISS out there, then the Playstation ve...

Is that good or bad? I hadn't done much research on the console versions - although i can see they revised the controllers, as i have two official ones, both pretty different (like the Duke vs S for the Xbox in difference).

Re: X-Box One/PS4: What have you got...

Think i'll wait a year or two before I get involved in this generation. Price will have come down, there will be a decent library of games available (online as well), and any hardware issues will hopefully have been resolved. They may even have a "slim" version of either consoles by then and backwar...

Re: The gaming you just 'had to have' at all cost

Not sure if this is the right place for this story but here goes…….. It was 1990 something or other (a long time ago) I was a c64/PC gamer but always wanted a SNES. Never owned a console and once I saw Street Fighter II running on it, I wanted one, I needed one. Stunning Graphics and sounds, no faf...

Re: What are you currently playing?

I kept seeing Sega Worldwide Soccer 97 on ebay going cheap and was tempted, but sounds like WWS 98 is the one to go for on both your recommendations. I might consider it, although I have enough footy games to last a lifetime. I guess the best footy game of the 5th generation is probably ISS Pro Evol...

Re: Best version of Doom??

Ok, its definitely not Saturn Doom as we all knew anyway. I just tested it. Its actually not that terrible, and the frame rate, while low at least is stable (20FPS fixed maybe). But indeed, its the worst port really out there, still a good game though, and glad its in my collection.
