Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

I'm definitely getting a sense of some people on here "hoarding" rather than collecting for the joy of videogames and having passion for quality entertainment. I've seen some horrendous shovelware admist in this thread, and have no re-sale value or playability value. ...and? Surely people can spend...

Re: Sega Saturn Vs Sony Playstation 1

There's a big resolution difference between the Arcade and PS version of RR. Play the original arcade game and you'll see it. Almost a generation difference IMO & no, the bonus disc did not contain an arcade perfect port of RR because there were only two cars on screen at any time due to hardware c...

Re: Is this swap good for me? (snes games swap)

Super Punch Out is a miles better game than Turrican (and the best version of that game was on the Amiga)

Re: N64 Vs Sega Saturn

The Japanese PS2 version of Rally is sublime but the Saturn version is immense considering the hardware. It controls so damn well even with digital. I never got that 30fps cheat to work with Rally 2 and hated the terribly inconsistent graphics as a result. Might have to try again. I know the 30FPS ...

Re: N64 Vs Sega Saturn

The difficulty now is assessing these consoles knowing everything we do and looking back at aged graphics etc. I had a Japanese Saturn, an Import N64 and a Japanese PS1, all at the same time, and all when these consoles were in their absolute prime. I've only kept my Saturn collection, because actu...

Re: Sega Saturn Vs Sony Playstation 1

I'd rather have quantity and quality, of which the PS1 had. indeed, and this is one of the main reasons why the mighty PS1 obliterated the saturn The PS1, PS2 and Wii are all victims of the 'they have loads of bad games' quotes all the time. Well yeah they do, but the PS2 for example has more PS2 g...

Re: N64 Vs Sega Saturn

Its all down to personal taste in the end. I, like many others here, can probably name 10 or even 20 games that I think are genuine classics on the Saturn but can't do the same for the PS1 or N64. Every time I turn on my Saturn I end up playing Sega Rally, for me it's in the top 5 games ever made. ...

Re: N64 Vs Sega Saturn

Aren't most of the best Saturn games either remade and enhanced on other hardware now though? I mean, Virtua Fighter 2 you can play an arcade perfect version now on XBOX Live and PSN....Sega Rally is arguably better on PC, PS2 had a version in Japan, and the sequel Sega Rally 2 was superior anyway....

Re: Sega Saturn Vs Sony Playstation 1

yep If you want to play the best version of hardcore 4x4 (!) then buy a psone. i've got both systems (and an n64) and tbh the Saturn more than holds it's own on 3d titles...as all 3 systems aren't exactly blessed with great looking 3d games. Ha, I know - Hardcore 4x4 is a rather average game anyway...

Re: N64 Vs Sega Saturn

I think the N64 is superior to the Sega Saturn. I think from a technical perspective they had different strengths, but if we go by library alone, the N64 has some of the greatest games ever made (and Superman), where as Saturn has a few decent arcade games, but lacking in much depth and real AAA tit...

Re: Sega Saturn Vs Sony Playstation 1

That isn't exclusive to the Japanese version, you also get it with the PAL version. My mistake, I could never find the "eboot" of the PAL version of it to run on my PSP, so assumed it wasn't released. I tried to avoid PAL versions of driving games, as they were often poorly handled and rarely optim...

Re: Sega Saturn Vs Sony Playstation 1

I often hear Doom on the Saturn being called a bad port, and after playing it only recently, I agree, it is very shoddy, and the PS1 port is just better in every respect. However, I came across Hardcore 4x4 while going through some of the games I bought in this collection, and I noticed how jerky th...

Re: Sega Saturn Vs Sony Playstation 1

. There was no need to go to the Arcades anymore to experience the "cutting-edge" tech and to meet other "cool guys" when it could be experienced at home with a PlayStation. I don't think thats true at all, arcade Ridge Racer is alot more advanced than the cut down port the PS1 got, and Sega Rally,...
