Re: Sensible Soccer - consoles

Anyone play sensi on ps1? I might be getting it Please please don't do it, I bought it back in 1998 hoping for a pixel perfect conversion of the Amiga classic on a convenient Playstation disc, I have NEVER been so pissed off in my life with a gaming purchase. I was so horrified I took it back and g...

Re: Discuss 136: What do you consider "retro"?

For me it is up to and including the Dreamcast. PS2 is in that weird hinterland between retro and recently current...... but I also thoroughly agree with Deadpan666's post. Which means retro is how it is perceived by any individual really!!

Re: Renting videotapes

Believe me, they are but See No Evil's the bigger and thicker of the two as it goes more into the culture and beginnings od the video culture and there're pictures of (now very obscure) films in it (you might find them on IMDB/youtube and is the better of the two)*. Oh yeah, if you give in the Stre...

Re: Top 25 Master System Games

Picked up a 60hz modded Master System from a wonderful South London retro store and I have been revisiting all my games in this glorious mode, it is like a Master System rebirth. Put simply -What a Fantastic Console, and 26 years after I first enjoyed it I am still playing the hell out of Wonderboy,...

Re: Top 25 Master System Games

It seems to me that history has been re written in certain quarters regarding the dear old Master System, in Europe and obviously Brazil the Master System was king and sold well and had many many fans, just because it didn't fly so well in the States does not an unsuccessful system make. I am not bi...

Re: DC Thomson comics

Ah DC Thomson a magic name from the golden era of comics. Unfortunately market forces in comicland nowadays are all about brightly coloured polythene bagged glossy magazine type affairs with loads of plastic toys thrown in and generally cost a bout £4 a pop! DC Thomson still do The Beano but I wonde...

Re: Renting videotapes

Oldtimer sums it up perfectly for me, whilst digital is convenient it does have its downsides and the lack of physical media is one very major one in my view. I remember the thrill of getting Terminator on VHS for Christmas when it was released on the format back in I think 1988. In those days films...

Re: PS3 collecting

The PS3 crept up on me slowly but when I bought one in 2009 I gradually bought various titles here and there and now have 75+ titles for it, over 80 if you count downloads, that is games I have kept and want to keep and not counting titles I have traded. It has been a great workhorse for me and I us...

Re: Bookazine reprints

I have the Spectrum/Commodore Bookazine and it is top notch, I also bought the MD/SNES issue and that was good too. In the case of the Speccy/C64 issue I wasn't aware of it's existence until several months later when I happened to chance upon a copy in York train station, it was only after a little ...
