Re: Charity Shops

I agree mate. The donation box is a great way to give. I too avoid any shop that treats it's volunteers like dirt, mercifully not many down our way do which is pleasing. I must say that I have found fewer and fewer console games in charity shops- I tend to see a shed load of PC stuff though which is...

Re: How about a Commodore 16 feature?

I would love to see this article. Perhaps if the C16 had been related to the 464 it would be in the mag every month!!

Re: How about a Commodore 16 feature?

I must confess to not being a reader then (boo!) but I would love to see that article revisited Merman. Given that the next issue has Acorn stuff in it I think the C16 would deserve a little revisit at some point!

Re: The one time you had to admit you got it completely wron

Bought an ST instead of an Amiga back in 1991 (because of the price difference) regretted it and rectified that the next year. Didn't look back!

Re: CD32 Feature

Another interesting Commodore machine that is lurking just outside the mainstream. I use mine often, maybe in 1993 they were limited gameswise and also costly but in 2015 you can play practically all of the Amiga catalog on it and they are relatively cheap, I wouldn't be without my CD32!

How about a Commodore 16 feature?

After chatting with some chaps on various Commodore forum's I decided to get a C16 and have found it to be a great little machine to use. There are a lot of pick up and play games that are nice to play on it- particularly Kikstart --that is just pure videogame addiction!! Add that to the fact that t...

It is but I think the Megadrive version runs it close.

So many great games- where could one possibly start? OutRun and Space Harrier made my young days super special!

I agree totally. Free Megadrive games sounds good also, you did the right thing donating though, nice to see there are some genuinely nice people out there.

I Agree, total double standards there. I consider every retro game machine saved from the dreaded crusher is a lucky one- I hope to rescue many more!

Re: terrible games that you like

Wonderboy on the C64 got a bad Zzap rap, something like 47% but I thought it was absolutely worthy of at least 90 - 92% and still do. I still don't understand to this day why it got hammered as it did, that was just plain cruel. Absolutely spot on! I love this in the Arcade and on the Master System...

Re: terrible games that you like

Home Alone on the SNES was universally panned but I love it! Tomb of Syrinx was an obscure Spectrum budget game from the mid 80's that I felt sorry for because it was battered by every magazine except Sinclair User (didn't care about SU anyway) I saw it - bought it- saw it's shortcomings but somehow...

Re: Charity Shops

My wife works in a Charity shop and bought me a pristine boxed N64 with controller, manuals and rumble pack for the princely sum of a fiver- not forgetting a mint condition Gameboy Advance SP for the same sum. Her store is not allowed to sell electrical items and most old machines end up in a recycl...

Retron 2 advice

Evening all. I am on a family holiday to the good ol' US of A from the UK and saw a Retron 2 at a retro game store, the price was too good to resist so I went ahead and bought it plus a nice haul of NES and SNES games. I set it up at my in-laws house and it works superbly and I am really enjoying it...

Re: Sensible Soccer - consoles

I do sympathize with you on that but Sensi is bugged broken and frankly bollocks on the PS1, if you can't get an Amiga for the right price try and pick it up for the Megadrive, the MD version is near enough the same and is not too expensive.
