Re: How big are you expecting the PS4 VR to be?

Of course it's a gimmick, will we all be playing with VR in a couple of years...nope That's incredibly presumptuous considering this is still considered new technology. Fair enough PSVR in its current form might not be as welcome later on in its life span but to suggest that VR in general will be d...

Re: How big are you expecting the PS4 VR to be?

Of course it's a gimmick, will we all be playing with VR in a couple of years...nope, hence it's a gimmick, sure it's a great gimmick and don't get me wrong I've been using Rift and GearVR for two years, but there comes a time when you get fed up with the 'procedure' of using it and some games makin...

Re: Nintendo Discontinuing Wii U from this Friday

To put it in perspective, that "shameful" library is now over 700 games strong across all regions, which is more than the GameCube (660) and the N64 (388) ever got, and nearly half of them are exclusive to it. I think this site sums it up better than just cross border figures across all regions htt...

Re: The 'NX' is Nintendo's next-gen console

Just a placeholder, they would have been briefed it will cost less than say the PS4 Pro, hence stick it at £350 so no risk if it comes under.

Re: Nintendo Discontinuing Wii U from this Friday

The whole marketing was screwed up by Nintendo, I said it then and I'll say it now, the use of the name Wii again was it own downfall, hardcore gamers were even confused when it was announced, how the heck did they expect casual family's to understand what this new machine was?! I heard people go fr...

Re: Nintendo Discontinuing Wii U from this Friday

I don't think it was underrated at all, mine has been gathering dust for a while, yes there are 10-12 games that are decent and not upgrades of Wii games, but for a system that's 4 years old that's pretty poor going, Nintendo have been stringing out first party games the last 18 months to take them ...

Re: Which 6th gen console was your fave?

The PS2 and Xbox era was all about broadband (which required an add on for Ps2!) online gaming taking off and Xbox live trounced the Ps2 in this area, yes the PS2 had a bigger library, but online gaming and Xbox won it for me.

Re: Which 6th gen console was your fave?

I owned them all at one stage during their cycle, the Dreamcast and Xbox coming out top for me, between them they had the best arcade games, best online play, plus i must be the only one that hates the Playstation controllers! they were ok for PS1 games, but the left analogue is in the wrong place f...

Re: Centre For Computing History Cambridge

It's a shame they don't hold weekend afternoon Retro gaming events, for people having to rely on buses and trains having an event 7pm till midnight midweek is a no go for me :( They do. I have been to loads of them and mentioned one earlier in this very thread! Must have passed them by, when i look...

Re: Sonic Mania (Brand New Retro Inspired Sonic Game)

Imo seems misjudged from Sega, the whole appeal of the game is for the older generation who grew up with the 2D Sonic games and on average still prefer a physical disc especially if they are buying a 'collectors edition' sorry Sega you nearly had the whole package, 2D Sonic game - check, collectors ...

Oh it's got the patronising press a to jump, b to slash mobile phone style how to play at the start, I think PC engine owners can do without that tbh!

Re: Which system had the best sound?

You guys make me laugh with your the Amiga uses samples so it can't be real 'music', yet the synth in the C64 is 'real music' stop being hypocritical! Music is made up of any noise be it computerised or recorded, it's all 'music'.
