From The Forum issue 180 - Favourite Bitmap Brothers Game

Good morning, if indeed it is morning where you are. We are back for our monthly visit, in which we request some memories/opinions from you. This time: What's your favourite Bitmap Brothers game? You remember the Bitmaps, of course - those guys with the sunglasses, who did games like Xenon 2, Speedb...

Re: Yuji Naka

Ah, a late one here, but I also interviewed him for the making of Phantasy Star (issue 167). We haven't done an overall career retrospective interview yet.

Re: Bookazines / Specials

We're working on some new bookazines for 2018, in addition to revised editions of existing books, but they're a little way off right now. That's all I can share at present but we'll let you know when more information is available.

Re: Retro Gamer issue 177

Great Soccer, which also exists on cartridge but is a different game (in PAL territories the cart version is called World Soccer instead). The rest all got cartridge releases.

Re: Retro Gamer issue 177

This issue has more to do with how readers voted. We chose to take the votes in free-form text fashion, because if we'd stipulated a list of formats we'd have inevitably missed something like the Super A'Can or something. Anyway, as a consequence of this, the majority of MSX voters simply didn't spe...

Re: Retro Gamer issue 177

The battle around 9th - 11th place was really close. With a couple more votes, the Speccy would have been right behind the C64. Likewise, a single extra vote, even a tenth place vote, would have put the NES over the Xbox 360. The Amstrad had a comfortable lead over both the machines below it, and wa...

From the forum issue 178 - Goldeneye

Hello everybody, I hope you're all well and that issue 177's poll results didn't make you spontaneously combust. It's questioning time, this time about an N64 classic: What impression did Goldeneye leave on you back in the Nineties? For me, the impact was mostly centred on the multiplayer as I didn'...

Re: Retro Gamer issue 177

The Plus/4 was chosen by a whopping 1.2% of voters, enough to surpass the Apple II but still not enough to make the top 50.

Re: Retro Gamer issue 177

I'll be posting up an expanded list once the issue has been out in the wild a bit longer, so as not to spoil things. Right now I can tell you that imagining the Apple II's 31st place finish is a bit optimistic - it didn't even crack the top 50, and was chosen by less than 1% of voters. The actual 31...

Re: Retro Gamer issue 177

Sorry about that - it's a function of being on the old Imagine design, which used to link back to GreatDigitalMags. You can find digital editions of the magazine at the following locations. Some are locked to individual devices/programs, but there should hopefully be something you find useful below:...
