Re: Subscriptions Queries

I don't know whether this question really belongs here, but anyway.. I'm constantly getting emails with offers for cheaper subscription prices for RG, but they never seem to apply to non-UK subscriptions. Are there any plans to treat us "foreigners" in a similar manner?

Re: From the forum issue 133 - Favourite turn-based strategy

Civilization on the Amiga. I still remember my first try - after a looong loading time and watching the slideshow of the creation process - I founded my first city, quickly built a militia unit and off to explore it is. While I was trying to find my way across Europe, the Germans found their way to ...

Re: Scariest gaming moments of all time

When I was a small kid, it was Forbidden Forest on the C64 right from the beginning. As a result, I've never gotten around to playing it properly even if it is a classic. In the later years, System Shock 2 and the first time a zombie/mutant/whatever starts screaming and attacks you. Nearly sh*t my p...

£13 with a 'signed for' service?
How about regular airmail? I've had stuff sent to me and nothing's disappeared so far

Red Faction for me. I loved the atmosphere, the Total Recall spirit is right there.

Pirates! was a great game. It is a crying shame that the reboot just doesn't catch the atmosphere.

Re: Top 25 Amiga Games

Games that I played most on my Amiga back then.. 1) Dungeon Master Had to wait a long time to get a memory upgrade kit to get to play the game. Worth every penny and is still a great game. The infamous "purple worm challenge" has struck me many, many times: try to play the game until the first purpl...

Re: What's the earliest RPG game you remember finishing?

It must be Dungeon Master for me, I can't remember too clearly. That's one of the games that you can't just start to try a few levels, you'll end up trying to finish the game

Re: New "How To" section - what should it cover?

Personally I'd like to know about the various aspects of running emulators and thus old games on a tablet (Android being probably the most common to use). There's for example Planescape: Torment and Fallout 2 that I'd really like to try but there's no easy for dummies guide to begin playing around w...

Re: Issue 130

I was a bit surprised that Omega Race was not included in the VIC-20 minority report. It was more about exposing some of the lesser known games for the system. I think Omega Race is quite a well known game in Vic20 circles because it is very good AND an arcade conversion. Hence why Matrix and Peril...

Re: Issue 130

I was a bit surprised that Omega Race was not included in the VIC-20 minority report. The football games article was a really nice one. I have many fond memories of summers spent playing Microprose Soccer on the C64 or Sensible Soccer on the Amiga. The tournaments were always fierce and the simple o...

Re: Fighting Fantasy

I used to love these books/games as a kid. We only had five translated to Finnish: Warlock of Firetop Mountain, Citadel of Chaos, Forest of Doom, Starship Traveller and City of Thieves. The first and last ones are still my favourites, I even browse through the pages these days at times. I remember h...
