Re: Tracking lateness

I think that the European magazines are shipped to some country first as bulk and then from there to individual countries. The other change in addition to the huge delays is that there is no "return to sender" address in the plastic wrapper anymore. It used to point to the Netherlands earlier.

Mark is on holiday. He'll answer your questions when he comes back.
Is he still on holiday? It's been over two months and ZERO answers.

And no, I didn't get 180 yet to Finland. Ever since the change of publisher, the magazine has been here ONCE "on time", which is about two weeks after it's out.

And for the record at hand, my issue #180 arrived yesterday here in Sin City USA!
I expect my issue to arrive in about 2 weeks from today because I live so far away, on the other side of Europe  According to Google Maps, it would take 425 hours to travel here from Bournemouth by foot.

Re: Tracking lateness

I guess Future feels like we should be glad that they issues arrive at all, which they at least seem to do (just so veeery late!). I certainly don't see any signs that things are improving, which is a sad state of affairs. Fortunately the magazine doesn't get old even though it arrives very late. B...

Still waiting for 179 in Finland.
Ok, seems like I need to start complaining earlier as the magazine appeared today in my mailbox. Still a very poor performance, how can it take four weeks to travel across Europe? Just wait for Brexit..

Re: Delivery and subscription renewal issues

I can confirm that I received the email and subscribing an extension worked fine this morning. I was happy to see that the quarterly extension is now also available outside the UK.

Re: From The Forum issue 176 - Favourite football game

Microprose Soccer on the C64, which Sensible Software made before the amazing Sensible Soccer. Banana kicks, rain storms, video replays, tournaments and a cracking six-a-side game to go with the traditional outdoor game. With Martin Galway's crazy music and crisp overlaid sprites, a truly great gam...

Re: Delivery and subscription renewal issues

Well, the magazine arrived today, but https://imagine.subscribeonline.co.uk/login is still dead it seems. So no Black Friday discounts this year to returning customers :?:

Re: Delivery and subscription renewal issues

Well, the "sea" between the UK and the mainland Europe shouldn't be the problem here  Previously everything was sent from the Netherlands if I remember correctly. A 2-week delay was the maximum then.

Thank you for your offer, I'll contact you via PM.

Delivery and subscription renewal issues

Is there really nothing that could be done about the European delivery issues we are seeing all the time? Issue 174 was out on November 3rd I think, and I'm still waiting for my subscribed magazine to arrive in Finland. Once again, it takes about 5 days for anything to arrive from the UK using any s...

Re: Amiga big box games

I'm sure there is a market for boxed games. Since there used to be a lot of stuff included in the boxes, a complete one could definitely sell for a nice amount of money. Personally I would start by making a catalogue of what's available, putting that in a shared Google Sheet and post it in EAB's mar...

Re: Subscriber since 2012, really close to cancel it

I'll also say that things are getting ridiculous. Ever since the publishing went to Future, the magazines have arrived in Finland at same time as they are delivered to subscribers in New Zealand. They arrive somewhat damaged and they arrive late (still waiting for issue 173 which was out almost two ...

Re: Retro Gamer - Issue 169

Funny reading about things in Retro Gamer being obscure. I feel that one important job for the magazine is to bring up companies, people and games who are not known to all people. I'd rather read about unknown people in the old scene than read the same stories about Archer MacLean, Ron Gilbert or Jo...

Re: Suddenly having problems receiving new issues! :(

It seems that Finland is really now suffering from the crappy delivery times. I just got an email advertising the latest issue "which will be arriving soon". I looked at the cover and it didn't look familiar at all, and I'm not surprised because even the previous issue has not arrived yet and it's o...
