What games got you hyped up?

I have to admit to getting rather excited over the imminent release of GTA V, although its been quite a while since a new release has caught my interest. With that in mind I started thinking about my younger days and games that got me excited. A good memory for me was Robo-cop on the CPC. Back then,...

Where do you read Retro Gamer?

For me the one and only place to read RG is in bath, mainly as its the only place in the house I get a bit of peace.

So between the hours of 7 and 8 you will find me most nights (hopefully not) chillin with a cold beer reading my favourite mag

Buster!

Not had chance to read all the previous pages so not sure if somebody's already mentioned it.

I actually bought a load of eBay a few weeks ago for the nostalgia rush!

Barbarian on the CPC, there has never been another fighter like it since.

Chopping off your mates head should never have been that much fun!

Re: Losing touch with modern gaming - anyone in this boat?

Games I've enjoyed over the past few years......!? Not too many to be honest and to think about it, it saddens me in a way that I don't have the passion I used to, to play the latest games. I remember getting excited about the latest releases and soaking up all the relevent news i could, been quite ...

Re: Thoughts on New Miner Willy game

I'm going to get lynched for this... *Sigh*... I did not grow up with Miner Willy. Until recently I had never played Manic Miner, and I still haven't played Jet Set Willy. I don't get the appeal. I'm sorry, but I just don't. We did have a Spectrum when I was a kid. My favourite games were Hungry Ho...

Re: Sonic CD Steam won't run.

Mate, I've had a serious issues with steam lately. I bought FTL and that won't boot up either. So I went to Lucasarts pack and tried opening Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, lo and behold that also refuses to boot up. It just takes me to some stupid features page. Trying to use Steam support ...

How about 'Bridge It' on the Amstrad. Terrible game but qualifies as a puzzler!

Re: Favourite Video Game Magazines

Throughout the eighties I would have to say.... C+VG Amstrad Action Ace After that Mean Machines and the video magazine 'CLICK'. Does anyone remember that? It had some dude who is now in Eastenders and a hippie with long hair and an annoying kid. Oh and there was a fit ginger bird in there too (I ha...

Combat on the Atari 2600.

Why don't they make consoles out of wood no more?

Shadow of the Beast 2?

I remember dying an awful lot in that but I didn't mind because the game over screen had some awesome music. Trust me, have a look. http://youtu.be/PGf5xpaRIx8

Re: Who bothers with DLC?

I don't normally bother unless they release it all on a GOTY edition disk. I waited for GTA IV episodes, Batman Arkham City, Red Dead Redemption and Saints Row 3 this way and it will all still be available for me to play again even when the servers go! LOL. Totally forgot about the GTA episodes, ho...

Re: Elder Scrolls Online

Always been a bit dubious of MMOs on console. More about implementation rather than annoying immature gamers, don't get me wrong, I know you get them on pc too. I couldn't help but wince on reading some of the features or lack of. No raiding, no grouped instance, no end game gear (apart from what y...

Who bothers with DLC?

Just had to ask this as I've just seen a report that there's going to be a reveal in late July on DLC for Bioshock Infinte. I recently finished Bioshock and as good as the game was I was glad it was over. Played and completed the first two also but felt this one was a little overated, however after ...
