Re: Collecting for the lesser regarded systems.

I dont know why everyone is talking about sales figures, when I was basing the " lesser regarded " on current reputation and popularity. I was talking about consoles that are not generally regarded as having a great game library, not being very good, and not as desirable to collect for or have such ...

Re: Speccy VS C64 VS CPC

Gonna put a helmet on first, I got rid of my speccy to get an amstrad and never regretted it. I hated the way the spectrum games looked at the time, although I have come to appreciate them now. I remember playing Gryzor, Strider, Rick Dangerous, bombjack, pang, Dizzy, etc. never though I was missing...

Re: stumbling across extremely valuable games

Its how I have built my collection up to be honest. I have never bought big at all. Play the game things like £46 for a boxed Supergrafx with 30 games £40 for a boxed Saturn with 20 games including Discworld, Dragonforce, Enemy zero, Megaman x3 plus more. the nes keyboard addon fully boxed for £25. ...

Re: Collecting for the lesser regarded systems.

Well all I can say is berween people I knew the NES was more popular. Not bothered though as I love both systems and The NES has certainly come out the winner in the long run as far as which one is currently the most highly regarded.[/quote] Thanks for clarifying your point and that of it being conf...

Re: Collecting for the lesser regarded systems.

The NES sold very poorly in the UK relative to other systems of the time, so I am sure that is what DreamcastRIP is referring to. It sold very well in North America and Japan but outside of those territories it was very much an also ran. Precisely. Hardly anyone gave a stuff about the NES here in t...

Re: Collecting for the lesser regarded systems.

Lesser regarded consoles that I've games for would include, Amstrad GX4000 - eight loose games. Atari Jaguar - the majority of cartidge and CD-based commercial releases all CIB apart from one game plus the better homebrew releases. Commodore Amiga CD32 - a fair number of games all CIB. Nintendo NES...

Re: Atari Jaguar American flag?

I will never understand the hate Cyber Morph gets from some people. I think they forget how ground breaking it was at the time and how many awards it won, including game of the show at CES and game of the year in the American press. Cybermorph is okay from what I have played. A solid 7/10 at least....

mine is Double dragon, I never had a master system but whenever I stopped at my cousins we would stop up all night playing the game fueled by strawberry nesquik, Highland toffe bars, space raider crisps and mojo's.

Re: Will 'Low polygon' graphics be the next 'retro' look.

I think the solid block colours of games like Virtua cop and virtua racing can still look nice as an artistic stand.

its when they tried to add textures and detail early on that things looked ugly, some of the early PS1 and Saturn stuff as pig ugly and just do not stand up very well.

Re: Famous people with retro system collections?

Jonathon Ross did an interview once where he said him and his wife bought Super ghouls and ghosts on release day and they both spent the entire weekend taking turns until they completed it. Tehy stayed in their pyjamas the full weekend ordering pizza and eating ice cream and played it nonstop.
