Re: What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Bought Resident Evil 5 this week. 'Tis ok, just feels like RE4 in Africa to me. Not great, not bad, just meh. Downloaded teh Monkey Island remake from XBLA. Brilliant. Fantastic visuals retaining the original colour pallate and music takes me back to the early 90's. Love it. Also bought Burnout 3 fo...

Re: PREDATOR

I wouldn't be surprised if Jesse Ventura runs for president in 2012. He's actually got some very sensible and well thought out political views.

Re: If you could only have 1 machine for the rest of your life

360. Best console to date. Massive game library of modern stuff and the XBLA has plenty of retro offerings. Add in the fact that if after they stopped making games for it and I was REALLY bored and I loved playing crappy breakout clones, then I could break out XNA and make my own games.

Re: Your First PC?

My First PC was an Amstrad 386SX25 with 2Mb or Ram and an 80Gb hard drive. Bought it in around 1992. Played Wolfenstein 3D, Prince or Persia, and Links on it. Then got a Packard Bell 486SX25 with 4MB and a 170Mb HDD. Played a lot of Sim City 2000 on that as I remember. After that, around 1994, I bui...

Re: Kurt Cobain And Nirvana

Nirvana = Meh

Kurt Cobain = Emo king censored who had it all and flushed his life down the toilet with the help of a shotgun. Not someone to be admired.

Re: Favorite Video Game Music

Ones that have stuck in my mind are Strider, Thunderforce IV, and Outrun. Lemmings is also etched into my brains but it's not a favourite, the Lemming songs are just ear worms.

Re: AMD Turion 64 & MAME

Ignoring the 32/64bit issue, wiping the system and reinstalling windows and installing all the latest drivers will often yield huge performance gains especially if the laptop came from any of the big manufactures who bury the thing with crapware. Also, whilst theoretically a 32bit OS should be able ...

I couldn't tell you what sort of FPS you should be seeing for RS on that setup but I run MAMEUIx64 on my 64bit laptop and have no problems.

I used to have a game called Carnage Hearts. It was a turn based mech game but you had to actually programme the mechs using a flowchart tool. Never seen anything like it since and it was pretty adictive if you have a logical mind.
