I never had an N64 until a few months ago and I picked up Goldeneye with the console. It is very overated IMO. May have been good back in the day but I failed to see anything special there.

I agree Savva. Dont want to start a "back in my day all this was fields and great crap" but there was shed loads of originality in the 80's and these days we're luckly to get a couple of titles that have the "wow, thats different" factor each year. I feel it will get worse as development costs spira...

Space Invaders was one of the first games where you could get "into the zone" and play without thinking. The heart beat sound was key to this. You need to really zen out to get high score on it.

Kung Fu Master is a weird one. If you describe it like that it does sound boring but it really does have the one more go appeal, at least for me anyway. On the other hand, I find Double Dragon very boring and that should be better as it has more gameplay elements (move in 4 directions, weapons)

If classic gaming is an era would that be early 80's and if so do we have vintage gaming in the same vane as there are vintage and classic cars. Would vintage be pre Invaders?? Also would the advent of the NES signal the Renaisance period after the Dark Ages of the video game crash or have I played ...

Re:

Pac-Man is still considered a work of genious - I can see the programming beauty of it, but it bores me. The mind is a funny place... As a game, Pacman can get boring as the ghosts are on predetermied routes so memory can beat the game easily. Ms. Pacman is a much better game. More random and much ...

You really had to be there. It wasnt just the games. You had to be there to feel the tension waiting for a Spectrum game to load, no one allowed to touch it or leave the room till it loaded in case it crashed. The endless playground speccy vs. c64 arguments (C64 is better fact!!!!). The first time y...

Space Invaders, Pacman, and Street Fighter 2 are still fantastic. Goldeneye is seriously crap tho. Its the graphics, they are just too muddy. I think Resident Evil 1 is terrible now if compared to RE4 but back in the day I played it to completion and loved every second. Of the vintage games, I would...
