Re: What are you currently playing?

Currently playing Monster Tale on the DS and have been enjoying it a lot. It's a 2D run & gun with RPG elements with your monster as he upgrades his various abilities. The only quibble I have with it so far is that the game sends you all over the place to get to the next area but I don't mind this t...

On my HTC Desire it's a picture of Jem from Jem and the Holograms.

Re: Coin op you stuck the most cash in?

When I was little the main games I would play were Scramble, Phoenix, Amidar, New Rally-X and Pac-Man with Phoenix getting the most attention. At college, the sports shop round the corner had a back room with a couple of arcade games and a pool table in and one of the games were Last Duel. I shoved ...

Re: Stinkers you bought back in the day

Another one for Renegade III on the Speccy. Wasted £3.99 on a dull, slow, boring, overly difficult clunker of a game. Exelon on the Speccy. Great graphics and sound but the game became boring very quickly. The same also goes for Cybernoid and Stormlord but with added difficulty. Top Cat in Beverly H...

Re: Don't want no short games, man

I prefer games to be short and sweet, make it a blast of an experience before moving on to the next. Never understood the appeal of getting a perfect on each section of the game, always seemed to me to be a complete waste of time; if it gets me onto the next section that's fine and damn the rating. ...

Re: Video Game Arcades?

The nearest one to me is Sega Park in Tamworth, When I first started going there it had loads of great games like Outrunners, HOTD, Virtua On, Daytona, Manx TT, Virtua Striker 2 ver.98 etc. Then it went to just the ground floor and it still had Daytona, Manx TT, Virtua Striker 2 ver.98 and HOTD. LOV...

Re: Charity Shops

The best thing I've ever got from a charity shop was a copy of 'Sinclair and the 'Sunrise' Technology' in great condition complete with press release for £18 inc. P&P from Oxfam Books from Amazon. Generally though, there's not a great deal of retro stuff with things like videos for a couple of quid,...

Re: Retro TV that nobody seems to remember...

On a sort of school related TV subject, did anyone ever watch the special episode of Minder in secondary school? It was an anti drugs one and featured Dennis Waterman(not Gary Webster). I think it appears on some of the torrent sites sometimes. Yep, the show was a called 'A Little Bit of Give or Ta...

Re: Sensible Soccer and Speedball 2.......

The last Sensi Codemasters released was actually a SWOS 96/97 "remake" on the XBLA, so I wouldn't say that was pants. But I assume you're thinking of Sensible Soccer 2006, which was actually quite fun, but was let down by bugs and lack of polish. It could've been a pretty good game. Scoring felt re...
