I'm afraid I'm slowly preferring the original RG based on what's been printed in the last few issue. Seems okay so far (not sure I can forgive the broken promise that was the Making Of Space Invaders mind!) but I keep spotting these really stupid mistakes, clearly down to lack of research and lately...

Ah YES! My kind of subject! Now you're talking! This is why that article on Streets of Rage II a while back bugged the hell outta me. RG says "name a beat em up better. You can't" or some rubbish along them lines. Well there's two off the top of my head I'd easily class as SoR II beaters personally!...

Also "Chase HQ" on the C64. Another port (By the same people who ported Hard Drivin' I think?) of a great Spectrum conversion. The screen size was shrunk, the hi-res car changed to a horrible low res blob, really awful music (Which almost sounds like a censored take because its so poor) and half of...

Konami was certainly abridged, reader feed back suggested that the three part features were unpopular and that two was the maximum people wanted to see, previously these features had been split down into decades 70-80s 90s and beyond, three parts allowed enough space to cover most milestones, two p...

Re: Page 29 - "1989 - Konami releases Turtles In Time " Could have fooled me but I'm sure that Turtles In Time was a sequel released in 1991 and the original arcade, released in 89, never had any kind of alternative or sub-title. It's silly little mistakes like this that put me off the last issue. A...

Speaking of shumps - C64 + CMD SuperCPU = Metal Dust!
Now I've seen some things in my time but this is just nuts. Take one bog standard Commodore 64. Add a Heavy Duty Power Supply. Chuck in a 3,5" floppy drive and don't forget a CMD SuperCPU 20 MHz Accelerator with SuperRAM Card (at least 4 MB). Then, and only then, can you play this - http://uk.youtub...

The frame is part of the loading picture, the saved game only clears the space where it works (and where it's various score items are) so i simply placed everything and then drew the frame around that layout. That makes sense. Very clever. I'll have to check this out but I know nothing whatsoever a...

After the latest issue with the review of the Spectrum SEUD, a making of SEUCK would be nice. The original version just seemed to randomly come out of nowhere and for its time at least, was out of this world. Amiga and ST versions weren't bad either really but unlike the C64 program, it was much har...
